Moving house takes it out of you, but in the six weeks that have passed since we saw our now-home for the first time, we’ve accomplished a lot. Those accomplishments have not been culinary! Thanks to the kindness of friends and neighbors we have enjoyed many a meal as guests and I have been out ...
I’ll go on record and say I can not stand Sabra Brand hummus. I take my chummus seriously. Five and a half years in Israel will do that to you, especially when you work down the street from a chummusiah, a niche restaurant that specializes in chummus, not an uncommon eatery in Israel. If you’re ...
If we could subscribe to the Food Network without having to get Cable, we’d probably own something other than the hand-me-down TV that sits in our living room. We stream our TV using our faithful Roku player and that saves us a good $100 a month. Thankfully, we have friends and neighbors with cable so ...

WINE COUNTRY, NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
We have been living in California for ten months, and there’s a lot of this state to see. California is so large that Bank of America have it sitting on it’s own network, while the rest of the country (bar Washington and Idaho) share a network. In January my family and I hit the road in true American style. With a trunk of food, diapers and baby toys, we drove up the Pacific Coast Highway to see what would happen. We enjoyed the sites and sounds of this state, and I am sure glad we did, because in a week from now I head to the Mid West two months ahead of the loves of my life to start setting up our life out there.
Go to California. Skip LA, the traffic will make you miserable. Skip San Fransisco, you might be hit by a quake. Check out the beauties of Solvang, Monterey, Sonoma, Petaluma and Windsor. You’ll have the time of your lives.
This week I took to the streets to capture a weather system worth sharing. The rain we saw in California just a couple of weeks ago is nowhere to be seen when I need it, but after a little exploration, I found the view I wanted of the San Bernardino mountains.
Four days in Amsterdam in 2006 ignited the photographer in me. During our short vacation, Yosef Adest and I took 6500 photos between us, unintentionally creating a stop-motion animation of our trip. A few weeks later I upgraded to my Pentax DSLR which has traveled Israel, Australia, England and the US with me.
Having recently relocated to Los Angeles, much of my life lies in the boxes behind me in this self portrait. As 2011 unfolds, so will much of my life and these boxes will once again become our family home. Follow the adventure of 2011, the adventure of Fifty-Two frames, here and on Facebook.
