The summer growing season is in full swing. Harvesting zukes, tomatoes, peppers and still some lettuce. Did I mention the broccoli? Huge heads. We have had a lot of rain and hot days. The flowers are perfect right now. No deer or elk have visited, just a few voles and believe it or not they haven’t done too much damage. The containers are flourishing. However, the nights are getting colder, so I have moved a few tomato and pepper plants into the greenhouse. I am hoping for a long autumn. Here are a few photos of the garden.
With only 2-4 inches predicted, I received 10 inches at my house at 8400 feet in Conifer, Colorado. Sometimes it seems like Denver and Conifer are worlds apart. Spring will be here soon, so we should expect some big snow storms. It is a good time to think about getting help from your local Garden Coach expert. Make your appointment now before the list gets long. Happy thinking about gardening.
New to gardening indoors and outdoors in the Colorado mountains or in the Denver foot hills and really don’t want to hire an expensive landscape designer who isn’t experienced with mountain plants? Then you have found the right person to help you with your gardening needs. Yes, you can grow beautiful gardens above 5,280 feet. Now, is the time to get the expert advice from the High Garden Professor.
The Garden Professor or sometimes called the coach will assist you with choosing the correct plants for the right location whether it is at a mile high or up to 8,400+. Are you worried about the animals destroying your garden? Well nothing is fool proof, but my gardens prosper throughout the growing season and so can yours. I have been successfully gardening with perennials, annuals and vegetables mainly in containers for 17 years. Each year I am anxious to add on to existing gardens and try new varieties.
I will coach you in all parts of the Denver metro area, but I specialize in the Conifer, Evergreen and Morrison area. It is time to start growing your vegetables and herbs. In April and May I’ll be selling a varity of greenhouse grown vegetable, annuals, and herb seedlings. Stay tuned for more information.
The Garden Professor charges from $55 to $75 an hour including travel. Contact The Garden Professor at wprobee@gmail.com
Depending on your needs, I will:
-
recommend places to shop for indoor/outdoor plants
-
go plant shopping with you to help you select the best plants
-
suggest placement of plants (design)
-
advise on soil amendments
-
provide you with detailed information on how best to maintain your garden.
A new offer just released for all potential customers. The most economical way to see how your garden will look with the flowers you want is to set up an appointment for me to visit your garden. I’ll photograph your garden and provide you with before and after color photos for $75.00/hr.
