Color Artist, Designer, & Creative Director of HeroesCon
Most of my life I’ve wanted to do the badges (or program cover) for HEROES CON. This year I was lucky enough to get the privilege. Throw in the fact that I got to play with Mike Mignola’s universe again and it’s a very cool little belt notch. Thanks so much to Shelton Drum and Rico Renzi for asking.
Of course there are different badges for different types of attendees, but I’m told that the only folks assured of a badge are the advance ticket holders. So I suggest that you go buy your advance passes here:

Hope to see you there….
Matt Stevens made these. http://hellomattstevens.com/
These are so cool, wish I knew who made them. Anyone know?
We’ll be at Heroes Aren’t Hard to Find in Charlotte, NC for Free Comic Book Day with a ton of other great guests. Stop by if you’re in the area!

Pin-up of the Rock Steady Crew by Wilfred Santiago for Ed Piskor’s Hip Hop Family Tree.
I was just alerted by Mr Casey Jones that Ronnie Del Carmen has a Tumblr! I love him so much! -rico.
Illyana Rasputin, Magik My take on her. The Demon Bear Saga, illustrated by the great Bill Sienkiewicz, was my first intro to her and the New Mutants team. Fondly remembered and I still have to stop from buying issues of this run each time I find it. CBR noted this run as Comics You should Own. I wholeheartedly agree.
I stopped following the NM after Bill left the series and really stayed away after Illyana went missing. Also been on this kick of visualizing superhero costumes without the spandex or capes. She’s a teen trying to have a normal life. Except she can mess you up by bringing you to a corner of hell or vice versa. Pen, pencil, watercolor on ye olde sketchbook that should really have been filled up a month ago.
I have 2 copies of this beautiful object and each is unique. The book pictured below has a different color scheme than either of mine. Must find one! -rico.
NON - the anthology that took the best of what made Françoise Mouly and Art Spiegelman’s RAW a classic and combined it with a clear sense of where the future of comics lay.
Take a look at the beautiful anthology, NON #5.
Just got some press for the Fifth Beatle by the Hollywood Reporter. Check out the article to see the full page of art that has yet to be posted anywhere.
I’ve finished painting the Fifth Beatle GN. To see more art and get info and updates on the book and the film check out

I want these Ronald Wimberly TMNT t-shirts so bad, vote over at Threadless people!! http://www.threadless.com/profile/2471591/ronaldwimberly/designs
Donatello is a geek and geeks get things done. Donny uses the technology of the future to pull off the ninja magic of the mythologic past. …but only after a bit of rummaging through the dumpster behind the Book-Off or Forbidden Planet. Donny gets a lot of his ideas for crazy inventions from watching anime and sci-fi. He’s also a connoisseur of chanbara; He and leo spend samurai sunday on the couch religiously.
His inventions range from clone illusion devices to stealth cloaks; the latter of which he uses to stroll through New York city’s many museums.
-also, remember that time when a few of you asked how you could get a print of my Ninja Turtles… Well now there’s a way that you could keep one of my TMNT illustrations close… like on your chest, close. I’ve entered them into the Threadless TMNT contest. So if one of the designs is chosen, you’ll have the opportunity to cop the art without me getting sued! You can see them all and vote here.
Zegas #0 is now available! This is the latest edition of short stories featuring the Zegas siblings, Emily & Boston, and by latest I mean that although the Zero Issue contains previously released work via webcomics: “Birthday”, “Cactus” and a couple more extra bits — most of it is presented in print for the very first time.
This early material initially lived online as a temporary solution while I figured out how to get it on to sheets of paper, and how to maybe involve a staple or two. I’m traditional that way, plus I had to feed my love for a page turn. It’s how I designed the stories to be seen, actually, and since they’re no longer available digitally, they can exclusively be read here.
Zegas #0 will be making its official debut at this year’s MoCCA festival in NYC on April 6th & 7th (we’ll be at Table F178) but you can place an order now to make sure you get your copy!

I had the pleasure of working with super dude and drawer Tony Moore recently. Tony asked me to color his pin up for the Emerald City Comic Con's Monsters and Dames book. Here's how that turned out, I think we look pretty good together!
Issue #3 is out next week. I hope you pre-ordered it. Do you understand that if you want an independent book like this you MUST pre-order it from a comic shop. They can't afford to take a chance on a book they've never heard of, and if you don't tell them about, they won't hear about it. So, if you think this looks like something you might like, tell your local comic shop and tell your friends. Thanks!!
Happy 100th birthday Mary Blair!
I did this for J. Chris Campbells Halloweirdos October event and it was obviously inspired by Marys beautiful work.
There is a light and it never goes out!
I colored this Key of Z cover for Nathan Fox a few months ago. Zombies are REALLY not my thing! This was fun though!
Poster for a convention in El Paso. Unintentionally channeled the Endless Summer poster [link] , it's one of those images that was burned into my brain when I was about 4 or 5.

Another Liberty Meadows strip, this one is from year one. Enjoy! Drawn by Frank Cho.
I've been coloring Frank Cho's Liberty Meadows old Sunday strips for a while now. I've colored 3 years worth so far (2 more to go I think). These are being done for year by year hardcover collections I believe. I'll post a few more here and there and I'll be sure to let you guys know when they start coming out.

The Classic Comics Cavalcade reaches some kind of high-point this week: JOHNNY HAZARD DAILIES HC VOL 02 1946-1948: Johnny Hazard by Frank Robbins began its syndicated life as juest another WWII Fighter Pilot strip. SETH’S PICK(s) :: JETPACK AND ROCKET EDITIONS: In perusing the list of the week’s new releases, I couldn’t help but see a theme.
