I'm a wedding and portrait photographer with a fine art flare. I am also a contributing writer and photographer for Houzz, an online destination site for interior design and home decoration.
I dig a good cup of Joe, anything vintage, and coats. I definitely have an unhealthy obsession with coats. Until recently, I have lived my life as a nomad. I am a photo freak who has captured images around the world. I have worked for publications as well as creating a line of personal and freelance work. I have spent time photographing in Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Europe, SE Asia and Australia.
In 2009, while living in London, I was invited to participate in a group exhibition at Showcase Gallery located in London’s popular destination, Brick Lane.
I photographed and wrote articles for 'Wild Tomato' magazine in Nelson, New Zealand, in 2006/07. Of course, I had to work for the one magazine I received flak for every time I told people the name of the publication. Apparently Americans say 'tomato' funny. I covered a wide range of stories including local businesses and events, environmental issues, food, wine, art and fashion.
I worked for 'Imokilly People' newspaper in Co. Cork, Ireland, in 2005. I was trained by two professional photographers and regularly had my stories and photographs published. This is where I learned, according to my Irish colleges, I had been misspelling certain words my entire life. 'Favourite' and 'colour' were a couple on a long list of mishaps. I researched a variety of topics, conducted interviews with interesting people and transformed their stories into a weekly column.
Closer to home, I was a studio/location photographer from 2010-2012 with Yuen Lui Photography Studio in Beaverton, Oregon. My daily sessions included babies, kids, families, individuals, head shots, expectant mothers, high school seniors and more. I learned an incredible amount from them and am grateful to have had the opportunity.
It's been a few years since since my graduation, but I can faintly remember graduating with a BA in journalism from the University of Montana as well as a photography diploma from Blake College of Art in London, England.
I have settled down in Portland, Oregon, with the English man of my dreams, but am more than willing to travel for destination weddings or events.
I am so fortunate to have a career doing what I love. I look forward to every appointment and to meeting new clients. Maybe you'll be next!
