- Keeping busy this week recording with Guitarola, Skyline, and Zombies during the day. Tonight I'll be at Smokin' Hot 7-10, tomorrow at Rock Bottom 7 to 9, Friday at Bar Louie OP 5 to 7 then Zambonies with EP Creedon from 10 to 1. Saturday at Ravisloe CC with BlendAcoustic 5 to 8 then at Poor Boys Pub in Montgomery with Junkyard Groove 10-1.
- Great bunch of gigs this weekend. A bunch of solo acoustic stuff in and around the city but also played my first couple gigs with Junkyard Groove. Great musicians and nice folks. I played sax with them so I got to check out Mike Aquino's playing quite a bit. That dude can play.
- Been busy playing many of the Bar Louies in and around Chicago and even have a steady Friday at the one in Oak Park(5 to 7). Also recording guitar tracks over Evan Coleman's Ableton-based grooves for demo/eventual free release. This weekend I'll be at Katie O'Connors in Plainfield on Friday(7 to 9) and at Bar Louie Oak Park on Saturday from 5 to 9. Next week I begin recording some of my own tunes in the attic studio.
- A fun, steak and wine filled gig with Vijay Tellis Nayak and Eric Montzka on behalf of Stitely Entertainment. Tomorrow spending the day polishing up tunes for Guitarola's Laguna Beach gig this Wednesday. Nice to be working.
- Had a nice gig at Smokin Hot Bar and Grill Last night. Quite a few musicians in the room and even had an impromptu jam with fellow pro muso Jim Croke. Tonight I picked up a last minute gig over at Bar Louie Oak Park from 9 to 11. A nice room in my hometown with a fine beer selection. See you there.
- The wife and kids came to my gig tonight at Katie O'Connors as did old friend of the family Melissa Choat and her fam. A short, sweet and early gig.
- Played Bass with Jim Croke and The Frogs last night and then continued on by myself on acoustic into the wee hours. It looks like Smokin Hot Bar and Smokehouse is going to be on the schedule this year.
- Played at Jilly's downtown last night with Colby Bessara, Geoff Lowe, Carter Luke, and Rick Vitek. Good band and a good hang.
- Played at Katie O'Connors in Plainfield last night for the first time and the owner booked me a few nights over the next couple months including February 11. Moving forward.
- I've been back in Chicago for a few days and things are starting to pick up. Playing a short set at Katie O'Connels in Plainfield this Thursday at 8:30. Also February 11th at The Cubby Bear with Michelle Hannemann and The Hopefuls. Thanks to friend Michelle Hollman's recommendation may be doing some teaching at The School of Rock. I have a couple hundred promotional post cards going out tomorrow to various venues and agents. Meeting with the lovely Shana at Siteley Entertainment for lunch today and then getting the home studio prepped and ready for the recording of some recently written tunes. Life is good.
- Played a private party at Mastro's Steak House on Dearborn last night with Blend Acoustic. They sent us home with two of the most buttery filets I've ever eaten and a generous portion of garlic mushrooms to boot. I love my job!
- Myself and Chris Siebold are sharing the bill with Nicholas Barron at Martyrs on 2/14. It should be a nice, romantic (?) show. On a more immediate note, I'm playing tonight (2/5) at The Joynt on Dearborn and Erie from 9:30 to 2:30. Come by and I'll cover all your tap waters.
