freesalad: “All of Timmins looks Instagrammed.” Downtown, just before 3pm today.

this is insane.
and hits close to home.

I secretly pray for forest fires. As devastating as they are they keep me employed through the summer months.

The Mountain Goats - This Year

Every once in a while this song will pop into my head.

Lately I’ve been thinking the same thing.

“Fuck you, Science!”

It’s strange for me to say how much I’m really enjoying this 21 Jump Street movie.

daveshumka:

When I walked past this I thought it said “Eldercore,” and I thought about how out of touch I am with punk subgenres.

Whenever I walk past an Eldercare poster I think it has something to do with me.

Venice, Italy.

This is one of my favourite photos from my travels. We were wandering around the streets of Venice looking for a WC when I came across this alley. I didn’t think too much of the photo when I took it, but the more I look at it the more I love it.

Also it kind of reminds me of Romanian Names for some reason.

Berndsen - Lovers in the dark

When I’ve had too much Iceland seems right.

Nada Surf - Popular

An episode of Girls reminded me of this song for some reason.

Tiny Telephone Studio - Lounge 1 by Shawn McClung

I’m more excited about the prospect of taking a studio tour at Tiny Telephone than any attraction San Francisco can offer when I’m there in June.

I guess I’m that kind of nerd.

My friend Shayne Kaye was recently in England on vacation. I highly recommend you check out some of his amazing photos from his adventures. His photos certainly make me home sick for England (even though I wasn’t born there)

More of Shayne’s photos can be found on his flickr.

On MaxFunCon

Yes, I can honestly say I paid $800 for MaxFunCon plus plane tickets, rental car, hotels, hostels, and food from gas stations to learn how to sharpen a pencil.

It’s something I’m proud of and more excited by than most sets of boobies.

April 28th, 2012

90’s Canadian rock band Big Wreck played their first show in support of their new album Albatross / reunion tour at Victoria’s Club 9one9.

The night was full of a obnoxious crowd, technical problems, and a disinterested Ian Thornley. I still enjoyed the show for the most part.

  • mixtapeconversation: this. yep.i think im done now. People think it is strange when I say this is probably my favourite MGB song. Also it doesn’t need to be paired with that other song.

  • Jeff Bridges - Falling Short It’s not often I really enjoy a country album. Over the last year my friend Brian has been slowly exposing me to “new country” that is good. It goes against everything I believe in. My indie cred and metal roots. Plus it’s the Dude, man.

I always think that’s bullshit. I paid early I should get the album early.

  • Barenaked Ladies - Blame it on me Before you question my indie cred by posting a BNL song know that Gordon was the first cassette tape I ever purchased. Believe it or not this album has held up for the last 20 years. Yup, it came out in 1992. Sure a couple songs are dated, but it is still a great album to listen to. Blame It On Me was always a song that stuck out to me, but it wasn’t until later in my life it really caught my attention. Give it a listen.

  • Big Country - In A Big Country If you didn’t know that this is one of my favourite songs you are a bad person. I used to have a girlfriend who absolutely hated the fact that I loved this song. I’m pretty sure she hated the fact that I loved a lot of 80’s music like this. One hit wonders that are sort of new wave, but you’d hear them on your local rock stations from time to time. Then again she hated a lot of things I love(d), but isn’t that a how those things go? Now I’m happy, alone, and can listen to all my favourite music whenever I want.I mean seriously who could hate Pee-Wee Herman? The devil that’s who.

  • musicandreverie: oldradio: Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath So I have just decided that this is the single most awesome song to sing karaoke style. It may have single handedly renewed my interest in performing. Also, all around, Aqualung is a ridiculously good album. Although I find their albums hit and miss overall, I still think that Jethro Tull is a really overlooked band today. For this album alone they deserve major recognition.
