Art in the Park
See you guys at the Art in the Park this coming Feb 18, Saturday. :) I’ll be selling framed prints & stickers. I’ll also be sharing a booth with Electrolychee, Folk Superlative, Anjo Bolarda, Manix Abrera, Dang Sering & Apol Sta. Maria! We also made a zine / comics combo.
A preview of what I did is on this post as well. :)
Yey.
Singko (Five)
This is funny, a student of mine made this for her other class. They were asked by their professor to create a popup project about nightmares. :D That’s me supposedly shouting at her and giving her a Singko (5.0, a failing grade in U.P.)
Hi there, :) The spray paint like textures are actual textures I made with ink and then scanned. The brush spatters are also actual brush spatters that you can apply using layer effects or as PS brush.. If you’re looking for ways on how to make the textures here are couple of videos I made. Hope that helped. :)

It’s More Fun Weekend Project
I’ve been doing a lot of weekend projects for the month of December. I finished 3 so far. This was the first one, the second one was VERSUS/HEARTS and I just finished the third one last weekend.
I really like the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” tagline BBDO Guerrero came up with, the direction of the campaign and the big idea behind it.
—
In doing this exploration, I took into consideration the comments about the icon and the typeface. I also tried to keep it close the intention, tone & feel of the campaign.
This is solely a personal exploration and interpretation of the campaign. :) It’s something I do for fun.
You may download the full PDF Deck Here.
VERSUS / HEARTS
Just wanted to share some silly things I’ve been working on over the weekend. Yey. Another weekend project. The last one I made was my own personal exploration on the “It’s more Fun in the Philippines” logo & application (in which I’ll post soon).
This set of illustrations is actually for an art fair. I thought of making a series of Vinyl Stickers I initially called Versus / Loves, but I think it makes more sense to call it Versus / Hearts. The idea was to show rivals encapsulated in a heart, because rivals cannot exist without each other. :p
The first few explorations are Pirate & Ninja, Pig & Angry Bird, Zombie & Plant. Other things planned are Batman & Joker, War & Peace. Other people suggested Pacman & Ghost, Android & iOs plus Venom & Spiderman. :)

Enjoy! Happy Dragon Year y’all.
Hello. :) I think it’s better if you just email me your question or private message me here on Tumblr. :)
One of our clients at Plus63 Design Co., released this Commercial for Energizer. It’s called Manika - Gift of Life. :) Visit their site at Revolver.ph
We just upload one of our new projects: Manika - Gift of Life directed by AF Benaza for Revolver Studios.
Here the 20 most popular wallpapers on Kuvva.com so far. Photographer Mark Mawson is still a favorite, with over 3600 likes! Ebo Fraterman and Oliver Jeffers seem to stay in the top as well - not to forget Dan Matutina and his awesome black & white illustration. Big up to all our awesome artists!
It’s fun here in the Philippines. :)
Pablo, an Argentinian (& Italian) based in Berlin just came from the Philippines. He’s doing his Illustration Around the World Project, and the Philippines was his fifth stop. He super liked it here and he plans to come back. :) As I’m writing this, he’s on his way to the Full Moon Party in Thailand. :D
I really like it here, it’s one of the reasons why I haven’t left the country to work or live abroad. I’ve been to different countries in Asia and Europe (I haven’t been to North or South America, but I want to) and I still prefer to stay here.
So yea, I think it’s about time we Filipinos become the ambassadors of our own country. :)

Kasey Albano is looking for work, but I personally think she should start her own thing. Her works remind me of the illustration styles of Ed Nacional & Blanca Gomez. Here’s the download link to her CV/folio.

Utwentysix was started by two architects and an interior designer who met while working at a Philippine-based architectural firm. After working together for several years and many nights hanging out at unit 26A, the friendship blossomed into a full fledged design studio when the three made the jump to set up their own firm. Unit 26A is now not only a residence, but their office as well, and the studio was aptly named utwentysix, an acknowledgement to the space where their friendship developed and where their studio was born.

An LA-based Filipino (Mark Redito) and Korean (Susan Park) duo that plays indie-pop infused with electronica. My Parasol has been creating adventure and what can only be described as a union of holy matrimony between the sunny California melody with the witty and hip electronic soundscape that seems modern and retro all at the same time.
