Who am I? A nice Italian girl from Brooklyn, the first college graduate in my family, orphaned at age 20. I’ve worked in the very chic offices of top print media corporations, purchased my first home at 21, climbed a mountain to search for gorillas in Africa and took a helicopter over Rio. I’m often clumsy and have a fierce love of funny cats.
As a freelancer, I’ve contributed to Marie Claire, National Geographic’s Intelligent Travel Blog, and Time Out, among others. I’ve acted as a talking head at TBEX, Social Media Roundtable, Internet Week and SXSW. I’ve consulted with both start-ups and a Fortune 500.
I’m currently the Senior Community Editor over at The Huffington Post where I’ve built from scratch several niche communities around lifestyle content and breaking news. I spend my day engaging users and training editors on best practices to enhance reporting as well as user generated and crowdsourced campaigns on topics our audience is passionate about. I consult on products to increase user participation, initiate metrics that help us better serve and identify our community likes, and find creative uses for social media channels, from Google + Hangout book clubs to Instagram photo challenges.
I share an office with some of the brightest people I have ever met.
When I’m not at the office, I live for city hopping, culture scouting and long nights under starry skies with amazing people. Travel is where I leave my comfort zone, shed my skin and broaden my horizons. I document my personal journeys on frillseekerdiary.com where all content is uniquely me: sponsorships and press events do not effect the outcome of posts.
