I am so ready for summer to come. It means cute bikinis, hot colors and flattering silhouettes. The beginning of summer is always the best time. The weather is just perfect to break out new styles. I can still layer up without looking drab from sweat. There is just so much bright colors, neons and florals going on. I can't wait until I can start wearing outfits with these must-have colors and prints. I've always been more of a dress and skirt person than a pant and shorts person. I'm just itching to start putting together outfits for summer nights and brunches. It's going to be such a party!
Let's not forget about makeup. Punchy lipstick and daring eyeshadows are on my list once the weather gets hot. When I look great, I feel even better. This past Sunday, I joined the Duane Reade team at the AIDS Walk New York VIP Breakfast and Opening Ceremony. The breakfast was at Loeb Boathouse, inside Central Park. While I was there, I felt so lucky to be one of Duane Reade's blogger ambassadors. I got to sit with members from corporate at the breakfast, and it really made me feel like I'm part of the team. Of course, there is the glitzy part! This was a star studded breakfast, might I add. Karlie Kloss was at the table next ours and I saw Wendy Williams walk on by. I think its great to see celebrities give back.
Duane Reade is the presenting sponsor of this year's 27th annual AIDS Walk. That is pretty huge! Not only did team Duane Reade exceed their fundraising goals, but has set a new standard for next year. At the walk, Duane Reade set up their own tent and welcomed anyone to come swing by to get their blood pressure taken. There was a lot of unity among attendees and walkers. I've never felt closer to Duane Reade as a company!
All the Duane Reade and Walgreeens walkers rocked this awesome tee. (I did too!) Let me tell you, there was a lot of walkers on our team. We roll so deep!

There is nothing more blissful than the sounds of ocean waves. Nothing more romantic than long walks on the beach at sunset, either! Back in the day, my best friend and I would go to the week ALL THE TIME. As life has it, we've become super busy and constantly miss the sands.
I also wore this outfit to my Scent of Departure event here. I loved this skirt so much that I wanted to give it some more air-time on my blog. The weather is still very damp now. I am dying for some major sun. It feels like we've completely missed Spring, and Summer is literally coming next month!

Recently, Kimmie of Kitten Lounge invited me to dinner with Avon (she's one of their newest brand ambassadors!) at Ilili Restaurant. Now it's not everyday that I have Moroccan, so I was already very excited about this beauty dinner. The food was amazing and flavorful!! This place completely changed my tune about brussel sprouts. It's very nice loungey spot to bring girlfriends or your date!
Avon has been around for as long as I could remember, but I knew it on a very superficial level. During the dinner, I learned about the history of Avon and its product ranges. Happy weekend! I'm so glad that mother nature decides to stop the hissy fit and bring the sun back out. All the doom and gloom really put a damper on things for the last few weeks or so.
I recently stopped by the Rebecca Minkoff sample sale and picked up this beautiful white crocodile number. I've been on the lookout for a satchel bag and when I saw this, I knew it was the one. Love that you can easily dress it up or down!

Makeup has been a trial and error process for me, especially finding great lipstick shades. Sometimes a certain red tone would make my teeth look not so white, and everyone wants to have that perfect bright smile, with great lip color to match! Teeth confidence can make or break your smile. So we search for ways to keep that confidence with our dental routine, and that's why at-home whitening is so appealing to me. I remember buying my first kit during college. It was all sorts of awesome knowing there are some things you can use at home. Let me tell you, it was messy back in the day!
Fast forward. Technology has made whitening your teeth at home so much easier! I opted to try out these dissolving whitening strips from Rembrandt. It sounded like a mess-free zone. I had such a fun time hosting this event for The Scent of Departure at Henri Bendel! The Scent of Departure is founded by Gerald Ghislain, who is better known for his luxurious French fragrance collection, Histoires de Parfums. When I first saw the unique bottles, I couldn't forget about it! They are so fun and unique -- each scent is based off a different airport city from around the world. One of the activities during the event is the questionnaire. Turns out my top cities includes Hong Kong, Singapore + New York. I think they've hit the mark on that one. One of my favorite scents is indeed Tokyo! It's super feminine and sweet.

Going green. There is no reason to stop being eco-friendly at the end of Earth Month. For the last two weeks, I've been trying out the Neutrogena Naturals line. Neutrogena has been my go-to acne-fighting cleanser in my past years, so it's already a brand I trust. I was pretty excited to incorporate these new products into my beauty regiment.EVERYDAY
Face & Body Bar I'm personally a bodywash type of girl, because bar soap usually leaves my skin dry-feeling after showering. I gave this a shot and pleasantly did not dry out as much as I had with regular soaps. I think the olive oil had something to do with it. Avocados are pretty nourishing as well. I didn't try it on my face because I had the other two cleansers, but if you are ever on the road and need to pack light, this two-fer is a great have.
Lip Balm This is a great alternative to your everyday lip balm. Love the design of this thing!DAYTIME
Purifying Facial Cleanser This is a gentle face wash. There isn't a lot of lather, as expected in any natural, sulfate-free product. I would recommend this for the mornings because you don't want to strip your face from natural oils and it's still a strong enough cleanse to prepare your face for the day's makeup.
Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Moisturizer This is the lighter version of the night-cream. I tend to get oily throughout the day in my T-zone so I prefer lightweight moisturizers. My face felt incredibly fresh for most of the day.NIGHTTIME
Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover My favorite product! I was so impressed by its ability to remove the heaviest of my eye makeup. If you wear a makeup, or just a lot of eye liner like me, I would totally recommend this cleanser. It really packs a punch! Just as a reference, I wear waterproof gel liner almost daily. Must have!!
Purifying Pore Scrub I like to exfoliate at night right after I wash off the day's face. The tiny scrubber beads are gentle enough for sensitive skin. It's great to unclog pores and remove any makeup residue the cleanser may have missed before prepping your skin for sleep.
Multi-Vitamin Nourishing Night Cream FYI, this is much heavier than the day moisturizer, but it still doesn't feel like it's suffocating my face. The best part of this cream is its healing properties. It contains Vitamin E and anti-oxidants, which is great for blemishes and scars.
In general, all of the products left my face and skin feeling fresh. There isn't any strong perfumes or scents. I feel like its a great natural option to keep in mind. Not only are you getting great products, but you are taking a step towards sustainability. 95% of the ingredients are naturally derived. The boxes it comes in are made of 100% recycled paper.
I like to think that small steps contribute to a larger whole. Lee Stafford is new to me, but I'm so glad I found it in The Duane Reader. At first I was going to get some more argan oil (as it was advertised in the circular) but I saw that there was toning shampoo and conditioner. I just ran out of my purple shampoo, and this seemed like destiny. I can't wait to try it out.

When I saw this dress, I knew I had to order it. I've been so obsessed with minty greens and florals for the spring. Combine both, and you have this vintage-style wrap dress from LOVE. Guess what? Threadflip officially launched today! I've been playing with the site while it was still in its testing stages and it's pretty promising. So if you are looking for a platform and community to set up your blog store front, this is a pretty great option.
Shopping is by your personal style preferences and size. It takes a lot of sorting out of online shopping. Selling is just as breezy. I uploaded photos with ease and listed everything simply. When the item sells, Threadflip notifies you and provides you with a prepaid box to ship out the goodies. Note. They do take a 15% commission from each sale to cover those costs.
So what I did was picked a few items I haven't worn or used yet and put it up on sale. Sometimes I buy a size too large and end up not wearing it.

How do you like your jeans to fit? I prefer a skinny leg pant, myself. Although, I do remember a time when I was simply obsessed with flare jeans and bell bottoms. Fashion is cyclical. It is definitely making its way back into our closets and stores. I did the bootcut thing in college, but for right now, skinny leg is the way to go. It works great wit an oversized top, playing with proportions.
If you like a little more balance in your silhouette, the bootcut jean is your best bet. It allows for more flexibility in the the type of tops you can choose. Put on some flares to create the illusion of a smaller top. The best way to find out which works the best, is to try the different styles on!
Rock and Republic also carries cropped jeans and leggings. I would get cropped jeans if I was leggy or the cutoff is short enough to not shrink my legs. Pair it with some high high heels to get legs that go on forever. Now leggings. Tricky pair! I love that they are always a comfortable alternative to pants. I would strongly suggest wearing leggings with a tunic or a long top. Sometimes they hug in all the wrong places.

This post is aka 'what I wore to eat like a #fatkid' since Jinna took these shots after we indulged in amazing noms at the Chef Aaron + Sierra Mist tasting. FYI, those are not all my bags in the first picture -- it's both mine and Jinna's swag! Living in New York City, food has played such a huge part of my life. By food, I mean dining out. There's just so much culture and variety readily available to try. My all time favorites are lobster rolls, ramen and pho bowls!

This lucky foodie was in for a treat yesterday. Do you watch Chopped on the The Food Network? If you do, then you will certainly recognize Chef Aaron Sanchez. Well, he teamed up with Sierra Mist Natural to bring us sizzling recipes full of Latin flavor. I got a first taste of the delicious dishes and drinks from the Comer Juntos recipes at Centrico, Chef Aaron's famed NYC restaurant. It was such a delight watching his cooking demonstration and tasting the phenom food.
The food was so savory! The green rice was so flavorful...so buttery, I couldn't get enough. Here's the best part. Have you ever had corn ice cream? It was awesome. Sweet and creamy with with hint of corn. I loved hearing Chef Aaron speak about cooking. He definitely has passion and an amazing personality.

It was pouring rain when these photos were taken. Lucky for me, I found a dry pocket shielded from the rain by the building's tall design. You can see the difference in the photos below, showing glimpses of the drenched street. I went shopping that day.
When I shop, I like to be hassle-free. On this particular day, I already needed to carry an umbrella on top of my bags. To save some time and heartache, I brought along my new Motorola ELITE SLIVER bluetooth headset, just in case I had to take a call on the go. I generally hate talking on the phone because I love multitasking. I avoided headsets because they tend to be bulky and not very chic-looking. Then, I was introduced to the ELITE SLIVER.

If you look at my right sidebar, there is a sparkly new badge on it. I'm officially a Motorola Fashion Insider! This is how I became so acquainted with this darling headset. Before taking it out, I've used it for conference calls indoors. My experience so far has been amazing. First, it's so sleek looking, and sits in a charging case that looks like a makeup compact. This case also charges the headset on-the-go. Second, it's barely there. This is when I start geeking out... OMG, it fits right into my ear and disappears behind my hair. I feel like I'm a international spy on a COM Unit. (Yes, I watched too much 24 and Nikita)
As for functionality, when I was on my calls, the sound was clear and the background noise almost non-existant. It has a roam range of up to 300 feet, but when I'm on the phone, I'm usually doing something on the phone at the same time. Having the headset allows me to answer texts, emails and look things up as I talk.
In the photo above, I pulled back my hair to show you how discreet it looks. In the other photos, you can't even tell I have it on! Sexy, eh? Truly geek-chic.
Coincidentally, my outfit here is pretty silver (silver-sliver, get it? lol) looking. All my jewelry is silver-toned. I have a metal colored graphic print skirt and icy grey wedges. To offset all the cool colors, I have a beige shirt and my snakeskin crossbody bag. There's also snake print on the wedge part of my shoes. Print on print is always fun.
So, if you are looking for a fashion-friendly headset, I highly recommend the Motorola ELITE SLIVER. It's proven itself both functional and sleek.

TGIF! I recently went to Duane Reade HQ for a meeting and was then driven down to the 40 Wall Street location to take a tour of the LOOK Boutique there. I'm telling you, it is beauty heaven!! So here's what I picked up there (above):
