Travel takes on this really somber and deeply solitary property when you and your partner almost exclusively travel for business. I’m reminded of this often while traveling when I see other couples. I can’t help but wonder if were doing it wrong, or if there’s hard but true data in there about legitimacy.

Either I’m going off and living this very separate life or preparing for taking on more at home when he travels.

I don’t think I’ll ever get over watching my hair curl up as it dries. It feels magical. I’m always in awe of it. Its so beautiful. I feel like there should be some reason that its making these wonderful, perfect little “S” and spiral shapes. A reason other than genetics or chance, anyway. Like an active process. I’m lucky.

Bright Eyes - First Day of My Life I’m at a place where the days that I will have to look back on as my carefree youth, however carefree they really were, are past. Sometimes I mourn this and wonder if I had enough youthful moments for a lifetime. This song came on Pandora, and I saw my past self in a memory that could have been out of one of those quirky, heartfelt movies about young adults. We spent so much time in my bathroom, bathtub. That giant claw foot bathtub, low light, cream and tan walls. That charming old house in Cohoes. I came in one day while you were in the tub and told you that the first was my verse for you. Sometimes I ask myself how I was so foolish to move to NYC with no money, eligible only for crap jobs. The reason is in: “I don’t know where I am I don’t know where I’ve been But I know where I want to go” “I could go anywhere with you And I’d probably be happy” I can’t always say that I have the sensation of being human and leading a life that has the elements that I see in others’ lives. But something about the light in that memory, and our comfort. I was human then, for sure.
