Tatiana Cardeal graduated in São Paulo's Visual Arts University in the 90's.
She worked for more than 10 years as art director and graphic designer for large Brazilian magazines and newspapers publishers. During this period she received three April Journalism Awards (Prêmio Abril de Jornalismo 2000, 2003 and 2004) and the Esso Journalism Award (Prêmio Esso de Jornalismo 2003).
With her documentary photographic projects she was nominated for the All Roads Photography Program of National Geographic Society (2007, 2008 and 2011). In 2009 she received a Documentary Award - Humanity Photo Awards, in China (hosted by UNESCO) and the Brazilian 31º Vladimir Herzog Journalistic Award of Amnesty and Human Rights - Honorable Mention Prize with a written and photographed reportage about sexual exploitation of children and teenagers.
Tatiana's photography is in search of a visual language to enhance human development, a photography that seeks the humanity existing through different socio-cultural identities, with emphasis on inequality, human rights and environment. She specializes in humanitarian, travel and in in-depth documentary projects, prioritizing her work with NGOs, Foundations and Institutes.
