Spare Room Recording is the baby of North London based Production / Composing / Songwriting team Nick and Hannah Harris. From this base we produce high quality creative work finished to commercial standards. Our work comprises four basic areas:
Original Songs - we write a range of material covering many styles. We also love co-writing with emerging artists and songwriters.
Song Development - we work with artists and songwriters who aren't performers to turn their basic ideas into fully produced tracks
Production, Mixing, Arranging - from writing some string parts, mixing a single track to full producer duties.
Music for the Moving Image - covering a range of styles from modern pop through jazz and classical and electronica.

- 13 tracks (42:39)Working with artists and bands we aim to help them create great tracks whether that be capturing an intimate acoustic performance to the creation of large multi track production.
- 3 tracks (09:57)Written with either the artists performing the track or other songwriters / lyricists. We take their ideas throw in some of our own and then use our skill to show off the artist and / or the songs to their full potential.
- 3 tracks (10:19)Instrumental music created for various commissions including film and library music

Every moment spent recording with Nick and Hannah Harris at Spare Room Recording is tailored towards making you feel as comfortable as possible. It was made clear very early on in our first session, that Nick has remarkable technical knowledge. He listened intently to my ideas, taking into account what I wanted to do with my songs and the EP as a whole, but at the same time was not afraid to offer advice (all very good) when he thought I was going in the wrong direction. I trusted him almost immediately, something that I find vital in a writer/producer partnership.
The environment is comforting, the reception warm and I found that Nick has an uncanny ability to coax out strong performances. Every decision is made with the intention of making the song as good as it can possibly be, because the song comes first, a mantra which is rapidly decreasing within the music industry. - Because each piece is composed specifically for each project and each project is individual it is very difficult to give a generic rate breakdown for composition. Please contact us with an outline of your project and what you're after in terms of style and length and we'll be able to give you a better idea of cost.
