Spare Room Recording is the baby of North London based Production / Composing / Songwriting team Nick and Hannah Harris. From this base we produce high quality creative work finished to commercial standards. Our work comprises four basic areas:
Original Songs - we write a range of material covering many styles. We also love co-writing with emerging artists and songwriters.
Song Development - we work with artists and songwriters who aren't performers to turn their basic ideas into fully produced tracks
Production, Mixing, Arranging - from writing some string parts, mixing a single track to full producer duties.
Music for the Moving Image - covering a range of styles from modern pop through jazz and classical and electronica.

“I have been very fortunate to have worked with Nick Harris of Spare Room Recording on a number of occasions now. Finding him a very talented composer and also very professional in his approach to his music and to the score compositions that he has done for my films. Two of which have gone on to win awards at film festivals. I look forward to our partnership growing in future projects." December 2012 Mark Callum Adams Tai Shan Productions

"Nick Harris was great to work with - I've come away from the studio with two songs that have my voice/sound and his expertise written all over them. He really knows his stuff, and I'll be more to work with him again" October 2011 Mandy Woods Singer/Songwriter

Every moment spent recording with Nick and Hannah Harris at Spare Room Recording is tailored towards making you feel as comfortable as possible. It was made clear very early on in our first session, that Nick has remarkable technical knowledge. He listened intently to my ideas, taking into account what I wanted to do with my songs and the EP as a whole, but at the same time was not afraid to offer advice (all very good) when he thought I was going in the wrong direction. I trusted him almost immediately, something that I find vital in a writer/producer partnership.
The
environment is comforting, the reception warm and I found that Nick has an
uncanny ability to coax out strong performances. Every decision is made with
the intention of making the song as good as it can possibly be, because the
song comes first, a mantra which is rapidly decreasing within the music
industry. This emphasis on song-writing and craft, is what makes Spare Room
Recording a special and rare cut above most recording studios. July 2011 Remfry Dedman, Singer / Songwriter

“Nick Harris produced, recorded and mixed two tracks for my solo artist project. Nick stuck to my brief but also explored other ideas that have benefited my work immensely. I always felt involved and comfortable working with Nick and I look forward to working with him again in the future.” March 18, 2011 Miri Singer / Songwriter

“Nick scored a short movie of mine and created a beautifully fitting soundtrack, adding the body and depth that were crucial to the mood and theme of the film. Nick’s soundtrack helped lift the visuals off the screen and into the audience’s psyche. A real professional Nick worked within my given deadline and produced my soundtrack in good time. Nick is intuitive and creative and through music he added subtext to my film that appropriately supported the on screen action, a true artist, I’d work with him again in a heartbeat.” May 17, 2011 Gill Bloor Director
