The hotest ticket in town for the fashion journalist and blogger is typically the fashion show, with hopefully an indepth interview before or after the show with the designer. That ticket just got hotter.

Last season Tom Ford, said Buyers and friends only – this season the trend continues with YSL and the newly appointed Creative Director Hedi Slimane. Although as I understand it there will be more than one show but the writers and critics will have to wait until it is shown later, on another continent…!?

Exclusivity creates demand and PR columns… but could it leave a nasty taste; I hope they have organised a back-up plan in case it goes sour.

So what did you all make of those glorious dresses – did you see them? Did you have a favourite?

As an actress I really enjoy Gwyneth Paltrow’s performances her fashion choices I struggle with (remember this?)- a stunning girl with amazing pins that I’d love to design for – but now Gwynie – WTF?

But to be fair she was not the worst offender – the very talented Marc Jacobs just lost a whole heap of clients with this!

Christopher Bailey designed a custom cylindrical space that brought to life the Burberry worlds of British Heritage, Fashion and Weather to celebrate the opening of the Burberry Taiwan flagship store at Taipei 101. Combining an eight part 360 degree film, a live musical performance and digital weather experience, Burberry World Live will tour cities globally including London, Hong Kong and Chicago later this year.

This multi sensory experience is the first to blur the physical and digital dimensions of the brand. Burberry World Live their 360 immersive experience, began in Taipei on 26 April 2012.

Now that we know Social Media Week has again chosen Glasgow for the September 2012 event (page link) do you think there might be a place for a Fashion Walk – or is that too risky (weather wise) for the end of September?

Tom Ford has a rather unique perspective and approach to fashion and has become exceedingly successful (most times) by making sure everything is done his way.

But here we have a well trodden path; an hour and a half north of New York; Ford has chosen a well known “Outlet” specific Mall. Is this big news, not really, I just find it an interesting choice – and hell my next NYC visit could well include Woodbury Common. I find it interesting that there is no mention not even subtly on any official Tom Ford official online platform – what do you think?

The recent review of the Damien Hirst exhibit at the TATE Modern by the Telegraph both enlightens and raises many questions…

It asks me the question where do I find my creativity; where do you find yours? Or are you only interested in hiding, copying or following the path of least resistance? Did we see a resurgence of polka dot dresses on the back of his exhibition in March 2011, opening in cities around the world at the same time – the Polka dot series which he’s been collating since 1986?

Should we assume that Stella McCartney’s brief was to make the kit predominantly blue because so much of the team will be Scottish?

Maybe this should be multiple pins to “My Style” on Pinterest… I’ve been writing about The Kooples on The Social Tailor since May last year, in October we got word that they’re actually opening a store in Edinburgh. Apparently an opening date is imminent but I’ve yet to hear when that is.

I will also attempt to find out when they will be on the hunt for staff and who people need to apply to… watch this space.

You're welcome!

You will also need icons for your navigation buttons – the ones that were your landing pages can now be turned into descriptors – very handy.

As for the loss of your landing pages – we can have a lot of fun posting an image at the top of your profile that can literally replace your landing page and direct the traffic to a better “Call to Action” – however there will be more to distract people on the Timeline page so it has to be pretty damn good to work!

If you’d like to know more about Facebook for business come and join my Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce sessions here or drop Colin a line – he’ll be happy to help.
