The album that cemented the “steampunk” status of The Cassettes and which took the band across the United States on tour, to Steampunk/Sci-Fi Conventions and even to the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center! Originally on Buddyhead Records in 2007, Rogue Records in Australia in 2008 and then purchased back by the band and self-released in 2010. No fourteen-song album can be adequately summed up in few words, of course, but the Cassettes have provided the world with an album that could provide enough copy for an entire pamphlet, perhaps printed by ink-stained partisans in the cellar of a deserted tavern. For, there are hints of revolution here: the lyrics' subtle dissatisfaction with mechanized, modernist life, the linear notes' demand for a re-examination of everyday objects, although the message is perhaps diffused by words, and rather taken up sonically by the band. A sort of manifesto of music, then, as what the album lacks in verbal "message," it makes up for in music of a variety enough to broaden the mind of the most emo-fabulous-core listener. In recent missives, the band has described itself as a Musical Explorers Society, and indeed this album might be signposted as the early stages of whatever phase the band is now in. And yet, this variety does not mean the tracks don't feel good all together, as it were, as The Ganges River Delta Blues of "Muji Achi Larki" fits right alongside the more traditional "Sweet Virginia" as well as the riverside kraut-rock of "Burglar In The Bungalow." The Cassettes invite you to come along for a rollicking air-balloon ride over a landscape dotted with greasy resonator guitars, screaming accordions, and soaring theremins!

A single for “Snö” from “Writing Analog Letters (A Collection)” Released in 2010 to commemorate a snowstorm that spread through DC and originally recorded during the blizzard of 2003 in Arlington, VA. Originally included on the Australian issue of ‘Neath The Pale Moon. Contains an exclusive B-side of a track by the Swedish pop/folk act New Moscow.

"O'er The Mountain" was recorded in 2002 during the last months of The Cassettes original lineup of Shelby Cinca on Guitar/Vocals and the Dead Meadow rhythm section; Steve Kille (Bass) and Stephen McCarty (Drums) with the additional assistance of Jennifer Potter on 2nd Guitar. Finished post-humously when the band in this configuration decided to part ways. These recordings are a culmination of late night sessions between Shelby Cinca and Steve Kille obsessing over Wings, T. Rex, and Badfinger records, creating their own take of inspired and positive rock tunes. Driving songs such as "All The People" and "This Will Pass" with their hopefully Lennon-esque message. Also herein is the rare vocal performance of drummer Stephen McCarty on "Meteor Rock". The opening and closing tracks of "O'er The Mountain" illuminate a prescient vision of what was to come with the mystic country/steampunk sound that The Cassettes later adopted on the album "'Neath The Pale Moon". Conceptually, the prequel of a musical journey that begins with an un-named protagonist through mountainous terrain and enchanted forests. Recorded by Shelby Cinca and lauded as one of his favorite 8-Track recordings he has ever done. Mixed later in the year 2002 by Chad Clark at Silver Sonya and now self-released after an obscure Italian CD pressing in 2003 on Alice Records. This digital release also contains original demos of Shelby and Steve recorded at the fabled Mystic Gnome Mobile Studios in Arlington, VA at The Stonehenge House.

Travelers of Tyme compose instrumentals almost exclusively, incorporating the primary ideal of the now-defunct Easy Listening genre: that life should have a pleasant soundtrack. Travelers of Tyme doff their helmets and raise their martini glasses to John Barry Prendergast of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, the esteemed film composer, who passed into The Black Hole this past January at the age of 78. Though John Barry's is not a household name among non-musicians, it is likely you have heard his music in the highways and byways. Most famous for the music he composed for the James Bond film series, including the oft-sampled James Bond Theme with its iconic rattling electric guitar and stacked, blasting brass, John Barry's career spanned almost 50 years during which he accumulated 5 Oscars, 4 Grammys, 1 BAFTA, and 4 Oscar & BAFTA nominations. The American Film Institute ranks no less than 8 of Barry's film scores among the greatest ever put to paper. Owing to his defining role in the "feel" of such spy classics as Goldfinger & The Ipcress File, as well as his well-beloved score to the Disney sci-fi classic, The Black Hole, the Travelers are humbled to pay musical homage to a fallen mentor. We do not seek to improve upon his original music -- it needs no embellishment -- but perhaps, filtered through the machinations of the HomN, the disembodied voice of John Barry hums on via the Mysteries of Tyme... Picture it: a lonesome subterranean train platform. A balding man in a rumpled black suit stands, waiting, anxiously checking his watch, too often. He rocks on his heels. His train is late, so very late. And what is his final destination? Not one of us can answer that with any certainty, can we? So we might as well be patient. (Just don't tell that to the Waiting Man. Our secret...) An empty train arrives - but it's not the Waiting Man's train. As the doors open, they unfold in slow motion as a beautiful brunette in a crisp pant suit emerges like a swan from a swirling gray mist. She seems not to walk but to hover, gliding across the platform, a gorgeous spectre existing beyond Tyme and space. With a wink and a slight smile to the Waiting Man, she mounts the escalator and is carried into an unknown fog above. What is her final destination? Who can say? Perhaps she has already arrived! As for the Waiting Man, his train is still running late. And it always will be. It contains the original lineup of Frodus and is their explorations into the forbidden art of time-travel, Ed Wood B-Movies and spring reverbs. Washington, D.C. to Gothenburg, Sweden to (soon) Los Angeles, CA— Triobelisk has been creating his electrified sonic-scapes since 2007. Bursting onto the Blog Electro scene with white label remixes and gradually garnering attention in D.C., Baltimore, the arctic scapes of Umeå Sweden and beyond with his electrifying live sets. As of January 2010 he placed his midi-controllers in the vault prior to the release of the diverse "Brain Traveller" album and began focusing on composing and game design. Beginning with a collaboration alongside award-winning Swedish developer Erik Svedäng on the iPad shooter, Tri-Tri-Triobelisk, which saw the audio/visual aspects of Triobelisk come to life in an epic fast paced two-player shooter. Additionally, he has remained heavily occupied not in the world of clubs and man but working in dimly lit base-stations co-writing an expansive novel with an anonymous French author building a Science Fiction universe full of rich mythologies as well as developing a physical German-style board game. This album, "The Path of the Setting Suns", is another part of the interconnected universes that will be linked virtually, physically, mentally and psychically by the artist known as Triobelisk. Eschatological events in 2012 will bring another new era of creation and Triobelisk is prepared for this and other future novelties in the timewave.
