i finally finished my EP. it's called GLOWING, it's got five songs and i'm proud of it.
i opted to release it as free/pay-what-you-want. don't feel guilty about downloading it for free. it's just songs and if you really like it or you are just very philanthropic, you can come back later and toss me a sweet fiver. but seriously, download it, it's free. i spent the whole summer on it. put on some headphones and ride your bike to the most psychadelic of beaches. hope yr great.

my EP is nearly complete. i have no label behind me so it will be released by the glory of the internets this coming tuesday, september 6th. it will cost zero dollars. tell yr friends.
here's the album art.
it started out with people doing impressions of statues and trees but then TIN MAN and then OLD FRIEND and then a frenzy. my shins are bruised from vancouver's enthusiasm.
the nice dudes over at theindiemachine.com asked me to curate volume 26 of their weekly seven song mixtape.
So maybe you’re dancing on a cloud that has the gravitational properties of the moon?
:)
helllooo! i finished up a new track. it's called Ozone Exciter and it's a big pile of hazy synthesizers. it's the first track from an EP that i'm working on. i hope to release it before the end of summer on the internets, but you can download the track and bring it to the beach by heading to bandcamp. more on this EP later.
also, by serendipitious chance, i have a brand new video for the song, and it was lovingly crafted by Alanna Edwards. it's embedded below.
ALSO also, i did some cleaning up of my bandcamp page and put three songs together into a mini-album called "three songs about the city". it's free.
oh hello there. today i wrote and recorded a hazy nighttime beach pop song about nonsense and living in cities. it would probably really enhance your life to listen to it at an opportune moment. you should download it and put it on your mp3 player and just keep it at the ready. it's free you silly!

we have been gone for so long and now we're back!
in this episode, we drink Vespers, call a guy in Chicago, tell a whale joke and sing a song. why not join us?
thanks for listening, friendos!

call 1-360-339-7922
this is a free call if you live in northern washington, and just a few cents worth of long distance if you live elsewhere! also, you'll make us so happy!
see you soon, christmas friends!
We're back, a little tired, but delivering a podcast of joy nonetheless. We talk about a lady who owns the sun, Ryan complains about his cellphone provider, and we drink Black Butte beer from Oregon. Don't forget to email or call us with your questions for Santa Claus!
Listeners! We put up episode 67 earlier today but it contained some editing errors! These have been fixed and we hope you enjoy the show.
It's Canadian Thanksgiving and we have somehow managed to procure a guest in the form of the first settler to arrive in Canada - Pete! He has a modern vernacular and is also a karaoke king. Check out his first settler blog here.

We are celebrating pumpkin ale season this week. This show is definitely a throwback to the golden days. (We are drunk) We have a couple jerks to speak of, and we talk - probably way too much - about UFOs and whipped peanut butter.
Thanks for being our friend.

We are completely unpredictable but we love you all. Thanks for sticking with us.
We're back after a month long break. Sorry we've been away - it's just hard sometimes to get it all together. We hope that you are still here! This week we bring back many of our segments and Ryan talks about his favorite thing: stupid criminals.
We've got an image of the week and it looks something like this! We also talked about an old band we used to play in, and you can see a video here: Thanks for listening everybody! download here!
We're back after a substantial, unplanned, two and a half week break. We are rested, sharp and agile. We sing karaoke, talk about a young criminal, listen to a puffin, and, for a short time, Ryan is ensconced in velvet. You owe it to yourself to listen. Also, songs of summer!
until next time, i don't need a bag - i've got my fuckin pants!

So here`s the deal. We live, work and produce this podcast of joy out of Vancouver, BC. We have this local newspaper here called the Georgia Straight and every year they do this people`s choice Best of Vancouver issue where the readers all vote on their favorite local stuff. One category each year is Best Local Podcast. We fully expect Stop Podcasting Yourself to win it, because they really are the best show in town. All we want is a runner-up. A mention. We just want to see the name of our show printed in the paper.
We haven`t really ever asked you for much. We`ve never asked for money. All we want is this. Mind you, you need to vote in 25 categories for your votes to qualify, and we realize that if you don`t live in Vancouver, this might be tricky. But if you think you know enough, and you want to make us sooooo happy, please click here and vote for us as the Best Local Podcast of Vancouver. You get entered to win some sort of shwag and, like I said, you`ll make us so happy!
Cheers.
Georgia Straight Best of Vancouver Poll
p.s. our song of summer mixtape of joy is almost complete. this is your last week to send in songs for it! yay!
We're on a safari! We get huge applause from our fans in Africa when we emerge from behind a fancy curtain and it's a non-stop thrill ride from there on out. We talk about a few serious things like the BP oil debacle and the jerks who made the Hurt Locker. We also bring you a new jerk of the week and a good ol' image of the week, for good measure.Your pal and ours, Louie E, really delivered this week with three great songs for our summer mix. If you still wanna get a song on there, you have two weeks to do so! Hop to it!
It's a loosey-goosey, fun in the sun kind of episode and we're a dragon and a weasel. We don't really talk about anything. It's just 45 minutes of silence.
Enjoy!
Don't forget to send in your choice for TGBA's SONG OF TEH SUMMER!
download!
This week we record in the kitchen because we're a goat and a walrus. We bring another exciting installment of "What'd you spot, spotter?" and a review of Pulp Fiction, which the goat just recently watched for the first time. Our pal Louie_E submitted his choice for the TGBA SONG OF SUMMER and it's great. The whole thing is going so well we're thinking we should just make a summer mixtape for you all. If anyone wants to design an album cover for it, we're interested!
Would you believe that I am uploading the show right now while sitting in a park? There are little white and yellow flowers all over, the sky is totally blue, and the temperature is 18 degrees celcius or 64 fahrenheit. AND I'm uploading it at a higher speed than I get at home. It's pretty much the best.
By the way, we are really hopeful that you will email us CONFIDENTIALLY at our NEW individual email addresses. Perhaps some sort of puzzle which can only be completed by reading our separate halves together on the show. MYSTIC. You can email us CONFIDENTIALLY by sending to IAN at TGBA dot CA or RYAN at TGBA dot CA.
until next time, here's Philip the Shed:

We're a solenodon and a field mouse this week and it's exactly as you'd expect it to be! We drink PINKIE WINKIES and talk about hockey for an hour. The summer song contest is selling like gangbusting hotcakes; this week we play a song called Julia by a band called the Very Best. Fantastico!
download !
We're an exceptionally ranty Oriental yeti and a sea turtle this week and, well, we're exceptionally ranty. We rail against pro-lifers, australians, creationists and banks. Good times!
Don't forget to send in your submission for the TGBA SONG OF SUMMER contest!
Until next time folks, get off our lawn!

We're back after a week-long break! We didn't do much exciting over this break, though - sorry. We're a salamander and a tarantula and it's pretty alright. Don't forget to submit your choice for the TGBA song of the summer!
We find ourselves as a rooster and a rabbit this week - psychadelic! How will Ian ever find the time to edit and post the shows on time?? Eek! Please enjoy the show and have a fantastic day.
We're a couple of crustaceans and we're celebrating one year of our podcast of joy. We recorded this one live in front of a green screen, and if you missed it, you can check out a video archive here.
thanks to everyone who listened, told a friend, wrote us an email or called our voicemail over the last 52 episodes! we would not be doing this without you.
love,
two guys being animals.
p.s. ask and ye shall receive! we now have a shorter URL! try it, just for fun.. http://tgba.ca

Don't ask us how we did it, but somehow, this week we became the mighty sphinx and a wolf spider! We are not quite with it this week, and saving our energy for our one year anniversary bash next week. Don't forget to join us! Friday, March 19, 9pm pacific. Sorry to our eastern listeners, we know it's a bit late! Maybe you can join us anyways... just come to our stickam room!
