Ed Vebell illustration to “Loneliness Is Dangerous” by Harry Coren. Cutline: “Alone in the midst of millions, the girl, who longed to talk to someone, stood on her fire escape as the voices of others, enjoying the companionship denied her, drifted up through the night.” Sunday Mirror Magazine, August 14, 1955.
Personal commission for Scott M. I had a total blast working on this, because "Conan the Barbarian" is one of my all-time favorite movies.
And Subotai and Valeria are pretty much the greatest sidekicks a barbarian could want.
a current work in progress that is on hold until i get a new computer. It figures as soon as i want to draw the fucking computer breaks. ugh
Did this for the Trinquétte Publishing challenge, but was a little too late turning it in. :/ Rushed the background.... if anyone that doesn't suck at coloring wants to color it that would be awesome.
I made a GIF!! I tried to animate this...and then my co-worker Geoff came and made it way better. haha

Not as happy with this one. But in my defense, two separate people sent me a link for Massimo Carnevale [link] and while that blog was the inspiration for these practice pieces, his unbelievable work totally got in my head this time around.

Here's a post-bake with the visible magic sculpt for the drapery and some of the mixed media elements of the base
Been dying to reveal this, finally got the okay as the piece is gearing up for Monsterpalooza. Piece was commissioned by KitKong's Model Mansion. KK simply told me he wanted a sexy re-interpretation of the Bride of Frankenstein, and left me free to redesign the piece from the ground up, so long as I maintained the symbolic hairstyle. It's not often I get the opportunity on commission work to do anything truly adventurous with the base so this was a ton of fun, capturing the streamline style of 50's scifi/horror asthetics while not being bound to any set design pattern. Just an absurd amount of fun.

So in February I did this, and I have already posted this on my facebook:[link] and also on my website: [link]
It's my homage to Otto Schmidts style and design of Catwoman. He's brilliant and you can go google him because he's the best.
I probably will stick to posting all my digital comics style stuff on my ConroyConroy deviantart account, this one will hopefully be the last one of those I post on here. I'm going to try to keep this account traditional work only, with this being the only recent exception. Hope you enjoy!

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a huge fan of the work of Tom Waits; I find constant inspiration in his explorations. This is something that's been in my head for years now, (since I saw Waits perform live back in 2008) and I finally was able to get most of it out. Not all that I hoped or dreamed, but there's nothing new there.
This is one of the first larger piece I've done, so it was mostly an experiment. I Sculpted him in WED Clay, and it stands about 18" tall. It's REALLY fun to sculpt in a rougher style.
Thanks for looking!

Time to update my gallery ;]
Part of a cover for "Age of Odin" book, published by Solaris Books
"Ever had the feeling you've been here before?
Drinking down the poison the way you were taught
Every thought from here on in your life begins and all you knew was wrong?"
Arriving somewhere but not here
by PORCUPINE TREE
Another book cover for Polish publisher "Fabryka Slow"
And yeah adding quotes to an image is a bit corny but I like It. I usually have one song that I listen the most during picture painting and I though its kinda cool to mention it as in my head its completing the image
Any comments most welcome
just tried something new here. some grungy sci-fi cyberpunk chix in suit
-that actually ended up with steampunky colors; thus the title. it's still sci-fi
