You say that you’re wilting
But I don’t see it at all
You’re a thousand things
You can fly with one wing

Got this last night by Terry Grow of Triple A Tattoo in Lafayette, Louisiana. He’s super awesome and was really excited about doing this piece, and I think he did a wonderful job.

Christmas Desserts: almond snowballs, hummingbird cakes, peanut butter chocolate puddles, egg nog brandied trifle, and mini apple pies.
Elle’s Birthday Marie Antoinette cupcakes—funfetti cake with buttercream frosting
Lion cake/mini cupcakes for Trey’s birthday—carrot cake with buttercream frosting.
Wedding cake for Kelly & Andrew’s stateside reception—part one (in no particular order): clay figurines I made of Kelly and Andrew, fondant map of Italy (where they were married), ingredients, 32 cups of cream cheese frosting, 6 layers of red velvet cake!
Hawaii 5-oh yeah cupcakes! Made these for a luau, last week. They were orange, coconut, pineapple cupcakes with coconut buttercream frosting. So good!
Made an amazing red velvet soccer ball cake and mini grass cupcakes to surprise a groom this weekend! I felt like a spy trying to deliver the cake incognito, and of course ended up running into the groom. Luckily, the cake was in the fridge by then, and the bride and I were able to improv (who knew I had acting abilities?!). I had such a good time making this cake, since it was the day after finals, and I didn’t have the guilt of homework and studying looming over my head.
These cute ducky sugar cookies were favors I made for a family friend’s baby shower. It was my first time working with glaze icings and I was really happy with the way they turned out. I also made yummy chocolate ducks using a candy mold to put on top of some mini cupcakes.
For Steph’s birthday, I made a classic smiley face cake to celebrate our 17 years of being the co-presidents of The Smiley Face Club. It was a yellow butter cake (duh) with yellow buttercream!
Norman (my taste tester) approved of the dog treats I made him from a three dog bakery recipe. Oatmeal and honey bones! I’m planning to make a batch to pass out at the Pet Expo. The rescue group I found Norm through, Saving Great Animals, will have a booth there and will hopefully be finding homes for many furry family members!
If your interested in the Pet Expo:
Or, if you’re interested in a new pal (they’re an amazing rescue group!):

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on here. Life has been happening and with that I’ve neglected baking. But like religion, or an old boyfriend, when times are tough, you get back to what can comfort you. Yesterday, I made dog treats (for my new pal, Norman) and white chocolate cranberry blondies. Today, I made banana honey muffins. I’m hoping I can bake my way out of this funk.
Here are some photos from my mother’s birthday. She is a lovely woman and enjoys gardening. A chocolate raised bed, topped with tootsie roll carrots and radishes, and corn flake lettuce.
My Sister’s niece, Kendall, turned the big one and her Mama asked me to make the lil lady a ladybug cake! It was a vanilla white cake with Swiss meringue buttercream. The ladybug and mini cupcakes were vegan vanilla cake. As you can see, she definitely enjoyed it! Thank you Elle, Libby, Kendall, and Red Thread Images for the great photos!
Dun, dun, da dunnnn…..I signed up for a Wilton cake decorating class this week! It ended up being canceled, but I decided to go ahead and decorate the cake I had spent all morning baking for it. My first attempt at a wedding cake! It was a white butter cake with Swiss meringue frosting and blackberry filling. I made the roses out of frosting (my favorite thing to do)!

Last night, I made desserts for Christmas dinner at my parent’s house. I attempted to recreate my favorite holiday treat, the Starbucks gingerbread loaf! It had orange essence and candied orange peel on top of cream cheese frosting. It was delicious! I also decorated my Mom’s traditional fruitcake with fondant and made a plate of triple chocolate peppermint treats. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

A festive Fall gluten-free red velvet cake for Danielle’s birthday! We used luster dust on the fondant leaves and buttercream frosting on the inside!
