I haven’t been able to enjoy much of the warm weather yet because of work but it does feel so good to walk outside after my shift without a coat on to cool off and get some fresh air. I also love how almost all of the snow is gone now. I think that the chickens and guinea hens especially are enjoying finally being able to run around on the grass.

167. So my alarm went off at the usual time this morning, 6:37am. I grumbled a bit and closed my eyes again until 7:00am when my phone rang. It was work calling saying that I didn’t have to come in today because of a low room count. So I drifted back off to catch up on all of my lost sleep which was nice. Today was a bum day once I decided to finally get up and I spent most of it in these comfy new slippers that I got from Goodwill last week :)

164. Today during lunch I was looking forward to eating some of these delicious dark chocolate m&m’s that I thought I had packed in my purse but hadn’t, they were at home sitting on my bed. So spent the rest of the day without my chocolate fix cleaning nasty hotel rooms, none of which had left any tips for me, feeling tired and sore, and cleaning some unknown slob’s poop from under a toilet seat. Oh glamorous job. One good thing is that my Maggie perfume was waiting for me in the mailbox when I got home. Now I can smell like lemon cookies while wiping up unmentionable things in trashed rooms tomorrow.

162. Today I met up with Ashley. We bowled a couple of games and my suspicions of myself sucking at bowling were confirmed. We then ate at El Azteca and stopped in at Goodwill for some quick thrift shopping. Ashely didn’t buy anything but I found a plaid dress, a pair of snuggly slippers, & two pairs of brand new shoes that were only $1.99 and Ashley said that those were just selling at target for $16! A pretty good day. Now I have to try to fall asleep early so I can wake up early for work tomorrow. Now that’s no fun :(

Well we decided to go home today so all we did is go back to Badlands National Park to check the rest of it out. I don’t think that my dad was too much into what we saw there yesterday because he likes grass and trees but I thought it was beautiful and wanted to see that part of the park again today but everyone wanted to get going after driving through the part of the park we hadn’t gone through yet. The part we went through today was more prairie than desert so my dad liked that and there was also more wildlife. We saw some big horn sheep and more wild buffalo. There was also lots and lots of prairie dogs and when you rolled down the windows or opened a door that’s all you would hear, them barking, squeaking, and whooping. After that we headed back up to the highway and before we left I got my picture of the Wall 80 foot dinosaur :) So now we’ve been on the road for what seems like forever and I think we have a little over 3 1/2 hours to go.

On our way over to the Badlands the GPS told us the wrong way and we ended up going to the south end of the park instead of the main entrance. On our way down there we passed through this creepy ghost town named Scenic. There’s not many buildings so I don’t know how it can be classified as a town but boy, that place gave me the creeps! It looked like something from a horror movie.

Last we decided to take one more ride on the wildlife loop road and saw (and heard) lots of prarie dogs, pronghorn, and finally saw a herd of buffalo.

About those buffalo, everyone knows that you’re not supposed to approach them, right? We were driving by and decided to stop to get some photos of a herd of buffalo. An old man had gotten out of his car and started to walk right up to them. I got out my camcorder because I thought I would maybe get some great footage for When Animals Attack. It looked like one was getting annoyed with him and he got scared and headed back up to his car. Then another group of people walked down there and a kid in a black t-shirt got really close. I decided to go a little further down for better photos because I figured that there was a whole group of stupid people between me and the buffalo so if she charged they would get gored while I had the chance to run. Then she looked pretty angry and started walking forward and EVERYONE decided it was time to go in the opposite direction.
