Profile
Final Year BA (Hons) PR Student
Public Relations and Communications | Bournemouth, United Kingdom, GB
Summary
I am currently building on my experience of the PR industry gained after spending a year at Weber Shandwick in the technology department. I'm also completing my final year of an undergrad PR degree and writing a dissertation concerned with media content and public opinion.
Experience
- Oct 2011 - PresentFreelance Social Media Consultant / VocalzoneAlong with a team of three other BU students I ran the social media for the international medical throat sweet company Vocalzone. This has involved establishing a Twitter account, managing and building on the existing Facebook fan page and creating an official blog. The client was looking to use social media to add traffic to the website (which acts as an important point of purchase). By creating a brand personality which reflects the interests and personalities of consumers (largely those in the creative arts industries) and creating content which is of interest to them we managed to create blog traffic equal to 21% of the existing website traffic. Working closely with the company staff we began integrating the social media into business activity at increasing levels and ensured social media was used to connect with consumers and create a dialogue in which two-way communication is possible.
- Jun 2010 - PresentAssistant Account Executive / Weber ShandwickI worked within the Technology department on a variety of technology brands including a leading video game company, a large online recruitment site, a cloud computing vendor and a home entertainment industry body. I gained valuable experience working in both EMEA and UK PR during my year. I worked on both B2B and B2C accounts, working with the relevant media to create industry commentary pieces as well as news stories. As well as media relations I worked in teams organising consumer press events and demonstrations, wrote external reports on market activity, worked in a crisis communication team for a leading technology brand and organised large scale press and analyst tours for c-suite company employees.
