This EP was the first i made completely inside a computer, and marks the beginning of my fascination with synaesthesia. Though it was originally released in 2006 in an edition of 200 cdr's, they sold out fast enough for me to consider releasing it online (on my old website) for those that didn't get a chance hear it or couldn't make it to one of my shows. I hope that those that have just been introduced to my music will enjoy it as well. And now, a friendly FAQ with the artist - Q::: What's the background of this release? A::: These tracks were originally written for compilations or other artists (like Track 10, which was a remix that is on DoF's Red Pine Pasture album). Though most of these tracks can be hunted down, the intent of this collection was to choose some favorites and have them remastered with a focus on continuity from one track to another. Q::: Anything else about the mastering? A::: Though the source material was mastered before being remastered for this release, every precaution was made to preserve the original dynamic impact of these songs. Those with high quality headphones will especially notice the stereo field and sub enhancements.

Phylum Sinter Bio
Born, raised, and currently entrenched just outside Detroit, Phylum Sinter is the working alias of Christopher Todd.
Self-taught in piano and guitar from an early age, he began meddling with computers in a vaguely musical way in the mid 90s. After severe overexposure to Detroit Techno, raves, and Berlin’s take on electronic music, he began to drift toward musical structures that are less about moving bodies and more about moving minds.
In 2001, both the creative direction and the name were chosen, and Todd’s focus was aimed at composing songs that are at once familiar and experimental. Phylum Sinter’s music is innovative and original, and is certainly well in keeping with Detroit’s rich and revolutionary musical history.

A collected works from January-July 2012. Downloadable @ Soundcloud for a limited time. With the exception of 'There, by the bed' these are all live takes with no post production - recorded after a few days (sometimes weeks) of just gathering patterns, designing patches and trying stuff out. Like a lazyman's way of arranging. Arranging in the playlist happens when i'm not too caffeinated to sit still and think about the big picture - usually for albums only these days.
The rest of the year is dedicated to working on my next LP, 'Back to One', coming 2013.
