Summary

Europäische Ethnologin - Cultural Anthropologist working in the field of Digital Preservation and Digital Humanities.

I am interested in digital and electronically storable data that results from a research project. Emulation is useful because by using today’s emulators an authentic reproduction of current digital workflows can be verified and long-term access is guaranteed for a defined feature-set.

To participate to the development of projects for the access and presentation of cultural heritage within Archives, Museums and Institutions is one of my objectives.

Studied "Volkskunde" and "Englische Literaturwissenschaft" for 8 years in Göttingen and other German universities (field research, oral history, museological research, modern, Old English and mediaeval literature (studying vowel shifts), linguistics, phonetics and more).

Expert in Cultural Studies of Europe - and Wales Studies, now combining culture with IT (web 2.0). Fields of interest are international collaboration, the media, event management, record management (archives, libraries, museums), cultural sponsoring, marketing, fundraising, user experience and promoting, strategic planning.

Also web management, digital preservation, 6 languages; IT; journalist; Web 2.0 expert; user experience; Wales; art photography - setting up international art exhibitions from scratch (event planning always resulting in a good vernissage or finissage); key-note speaker at international conferences regarding cultural studies, easy to get on with (good team player / social skills), information management ...

bwFLA project / University of Ulm
The bwFla project (Baden-Wuerttemberg Functional Longterm Archiving and Access) is a project with the goal of defining and providing a practical implementation of archival workflows for the rendering of digital objects (i.e. easily accessed by users) in its original environment (i.e. application). To maintain the accessibility of the objects in the future, additional information beside the technical meta-data – such as knowledge of the contextual environment, manuals and documentation – can be gathered and stored alongside other meta-data. The project builds on existing digital preservation knowledge by using and possibly extending frameworks such as Planets.
