Delayed 6 month post!!
Max turned 6 months old last Tuesday! Last thanksgiving we were announcing to friends and family that he was on the way and passing around his shadowy ultrasound picture. This year he was sitting at the table sampling yams and mashed potatoes! Pretty amazing.
He is such a super smiley, fun baby. He smiles at everyone constantly, even taking breaks in the middle of grumpy/sleepy spells to grin at us. He hasn’t developed any stranger anxiety yet and I’m not looking forward to that. I like having a jolly baby who flirts with old ladies at the grocery store. It’s the best.
He’s still not crawling, even though he’s seemed SO CLOSE for about a month now. He does push ups all the time and occasionally gets on his hands and knees. Sometimes he’ll sort of launch himself forward, but it doesn’t exactly seem purposeful. I feel like he could start really crawling tomorrow, or another couple months from now. We’ll just have to wait and see.
He’s sitting great and loves to stand with support. He’s so strong!
No teeth yet. At three months I was convinced that all the drooling and mouthing of things meant teeth were imminent. Shows what I know! He continues to drool and stick everything in his mouth, but no sign of teeth yet. According to my baby book, I got my first tooth at 9.5 months so maybe he’s on a similar track.
We started solid foods this month and he’s slowly starting to like some things. His favorite is probably avocado. Applesauce has earned the yuckiest faces. He’s been having a little fruit or vegetables at lunch time and a little oatmeal with prunes at dinner.
He is now 20 lbs, 14ozs and 29 inches tall. So big! 90th percentile for weight and 97th for height. Fun fact: He weighs more than Jeff did at the same age, but not as much as I did! I was a fat baby…
So, the fun continues. He’s the cutest and best and we love him so much!
