  • perfectmidnightworld: “Chase the Tear” by DOLDRUMS // Originally by Portishead Covering/remixing Portishead is a daunting task for any artist, but DOLDRUMS take the job (commissioned by Portishead themselves) and run with it, amping up the intensity of the original by adding another layer of beats on top of the original’s machine gun percussion, as well as eerie distorted guitars and creeping, ominous backing vocals. It’s a pretty incredible song from the get-go, nevermind that it’s a cover of one of the best bands of the past twenty years. Expectations be damned, DOLDRUMS makes it shine.
