- How do I stop comparing myself to others? I feel so inferior and inadequate to everyone and I know it's self-destructive, but I can't stop doing it.It's hard. I don't think there's an easy way to stop doing it, it's something that people struggle with their entire lives. You just have to notice when you're doing and tell yourself to stop - that doesn't matter, that isn't what it's about. And the person you're probably comparing yourself to probably doesn't even care about whatever you're stressing over anyway! Let it go, stop it. It's not going to happen over night but if you keep catching yourself and actively stopping yourself from having those kinds of thoughts eventually it'll get better. I don't think it'll ever stop completely, it's just sort of a part of human nature to compare yourself to others like that, but you can definitely do it less if it feels like this much of a problem to you.Asked by Formspring May 15, 12
