Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and the thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself. Edmund Lee (via drinktheantidote)This sentence actually has a lot of different meanings, it’s why I thought it would be perfect.
The song (and this sentence especially) helped one of my closest friends to get through a very difficult time, and it was an important period of my life. Even though we’re not very close anymore, it has changed me a bit.
There is also the fact that my house burned down three years ago, and I thought it was a good way to remember not to give too much thought about material things.
Finally, I believe this sentence will always be true, in any situation. I don’t see it as a “Nothing lasts forever”, I prefer the meaning it has in the song. That something unbearable at one time will eventually just be dust in your mind. It’s the good moments that you keep.
And obviously, I like the song as a whole. It’s just perfect, I could listen to it over and over and never get tired of it.
