You may not already be aware of Boston's Moduloktopus, but you should start paying attention because this bass-heavy Electronic Music Chameleon is making waves in 2013.
The Dominican producer living in Boston has been creating a buzz amongst various blogs (Earmilk, Gotta Dance Dirty, Run The Trap, Wicked, Klubb Ace etc...). The artist is solely in love with the creative process and the capacity to express emotions and movements through music in such a way that people can identify some link between how they feel and how they felt during other moments in life. His style is a hypnotic combination of EDM genres, experimental sounds, multi-dimensional melodies, soaring build ups, and climatic Sub Bass body motions.

Been spending my day learning #cakewalk on a touchscreen!! Special announcement coming soon
Though you might not have heard of her, Roxiny is surely on the same golden road as other EDM females u might know. The dame hails from Dominican Republic and the vibe of her tracks certainly capitalize on her Latin roots.
“Within every culture I lived and loved, music was the greatest form of expression,” says Roxiny in regards to her music. The EDM scene could certainly stand to have more flavor with the direction both of these artists push forward.
This remix is my Kaleidoscopic interpretation of the lyrics with a twist of Dominican and UK EDM elements. Remixing this hybrid with lyrics is for me a great way to add depth to the music and tell a story. In this specific case I wanted to take Dominican rhythms to a futuristic level no one tried before. You’ll hear that inside the imaginary landscape of the deep bass motions, the glitchy Dominican tambora, airy vocals, anesthetic pads, and outer-space dub elements, as a lesson in its moving wisdom.
Regardless of any means we use, whenever we find time to clear our mental noise we realize how much space is an essential aspect to pull ourselves together in life. Relative to what I once heard a wise man once say “Seek nothing and you will find everything”. Finding light from the perception of mass confusion starts by recognizing the dissonant space one find themselves in. Then it’s liberating to open your awareness and not make the noise an identity. Only See it as a small part of who you are and watch it’s activity from a bigger picture.
The nature of events flowing in our world is something that is mostly outside our control, but it’s in our nature to make sense out of it, regardless of how confusing or distracting it may seem. So in honor of it, this song speaks about gathering yourself back from the natural randomness of life. Making the metaphor of “dissonant space” the way you create order out of all the chaos, and instead of attempting to control it, you find a way to make it Dance with you.
There is NO Way you listen to hip Hop and not Realize what this is… Lesson 101 on sampling
This Song is another one of my Childhood Memories. Don’t know if you remember, but this was back in 1995 when Drum n Bass was vibin hard all over the scene. The amen break sound spoke hard to me so I knew it had to make a comeback in some shape or form. As a kid I would get in the zone and go into adventure mode, similar to the videoo, just runnin wild and try to fly over stuff like skaters to obstacles.
Don’t remember why but I wanted to make something different with the trap inspired elements. Maybe it was the over saturated and overstated club anthems I had looping at the time, I felt the vibes of Jungle and Reggae could meet into this combination to make it something naturally mystic, Interesting and intricate, slow and fast, EZ n Hard, lo-fi n HD, Yin n Yang…
Little known fact about the track is that I am actually playing all the guitar parts in this song. I hadn’t grabbed the instrument in a while, but when this situation presented itself I was hooked once more to the Jamaican vibrations the tune was going for. For that reason I wanted to mix a little Dancehall, Reggae, and Jungle. Just like Hip Hop came from the conglomeration of various influences, this tune had to carry that hybrid sound.
Michael Gold Does a great job in Capturing a Caribbean Essence of the tune, and Graphics by Vlad Sepetov to give it the Proper lookz

This is what happens when the seductive vibez of an 80s hit mingles with 808 club grooves. Song samples the soulful vocals of Joanna Teters to add chills to the whole mix.
This was my first release of 2013. Welcoming the year with a combination of nostalgic memories of Art of Noise, with that deep trap sound. This tune has one of those melodies that used to haunt me as a kid. I know everyone has an 80s moment they will never forget, this one was all about the memory of me discovering new music thru my sister’s Cassette collection, when i didn’t know anything other than top40 radio or Mtv. There’s a certain feeling you get of dusting out old music and listening to something that will grab your attention for years ahead in your life.
To give the tune a contemporary spin, I wanted to take the Jersey Club vibez into a deep soulful bliss. Once I heard DJ Sliink burst some deep Jersey Club vibes that were so minimal and yet very heavy, I felt I needed to take that into my music somehow. Having to chop a vocal to add flavor, I took Joana Teters acapella from our tune “Don’t Think Feel” cause it had that reverberant mystique that would attribute a soulful and yet dark ambiance to this piece.

M. Constant is a very spiritually elevated producer/beatmaker. I had the privilege of going to the same college as this artist. Recognizing his amazing work from his “BUGGED EP” on JASS, I wanted to make this Phillip K Dick inspired title something that would stand the test of time.
At the time I made remix M. Constant introduced me the experimental workings of Lapalux and I had Burial on repeat at the time. Alot of people don’t know but the members of a well known band that became part of Kendrick Lamar’s latest record contributed to the original song by giving it organic elements of vocals, sitar, and analog effects. Also Drummer Isaac Hasselkorn got some amazing chops locked into the song, which was the main inspiration to give the groove the swing has. Also Alex BLUM made a appearance by blending some Viola layers into the song to give it chills similar to what I get to Bonobo album climaxes.
This track will always show how much the collective energy of artist will always exceed your own expectations and push the music forward. At first I wanted to have that Dark UK future garage to it, but later evolved into this overture where every section was different and connecting all the influences together. til this day it’s one of my favorite remixes I’ve ever composed to.
A few facts, if you listen close to the experimental section your going to listen to sounds from Lala Hathaway, Tyler Randall’s Sitar chops, Whales screaming, treadmills powering down, necklace beads being ripped apart, river flowing, old vinyl noise, a field recording of a parking garage I used to live by, and dripping harps. It’s one of my fav experimental sections because of all the random melodic layers.
@zebbler @encanti just went da Fuck in playing the @dicemotion remix of their tune final sign #mindmelt
