We are going to meet up again on Saturday, 11 Dec 2010 at 8pm at the Victoria Sports Bar and Grill (located at #25 on the linked map) to cheer on the University of Michigan ice hockey team as they take on their little brother, otherwise known as Michigan State, in the ‘Big Chill at the Big House’. This game will be the 5th major college hockey game played outdoors in the history of college hockey, and will most likely set the world record for the largest crowd to watch an ice hockey game, the previous record was set 9 years ago when the same two teams played in E. Lansing in Spartan Stadium. Anyway, it should be a fun backdrop for one last evening of hanging out with other Michigan alums before everyone heads in separate directions over the holidays. Hail to the Victors! Chris & Alexis P.S. More details regarding the Big Chill in the Big House, including a live web cam to see what the ice rink looks like in the stadium can be seen here: Big Chill info on mgoblue.com P. S. S. Also, Friday night (Saturday morning here), the University of Michigan’s men’s soccer team will be competing for the first time in the 10 year history of the varsity team in the College Cup Semi-finals, and take on #1 seeded Akron, and along the way they have made a pretty popular you-tube music video: Check it out.
We once again had a great turnout of Michigan supporters at the Victoria Sports Bar and Grill last Saturday to watch the tOSU game. It was the end of Michigan Football’s 2010 Regular Season and although Michigan made some good plays during the first quarter, it wasn’t enough to hold back tOSU throughout the rest of the game.
We are planning a few events before and around the holiday season and we will send further details as it gets closer. Hope to see you there!
While it didn’t appear as if many Wolverine players showed up for the first half (and the defense didn’t seem to show up for the full 60 minutes) of the Wisconsin game, we once again had a great turnout of Michigan supporters at the Victoria Sports Bar and Grill last Saturday. And despite the poor showing by our beloved Michigan Wolverine football team, we all enjoyed another evening hanging out with one another and there were a lot of smiles to go around as can be seen in the pictures below. Thanks for coming out, and we look forward to seeing you again this coming weekend as the Wolverines take on tOSU and try to end the current losing streak to that dreaded team from the south.
Hi all-
We are going to meet up again on Saturday at 5pm at the Victoria Sports Bar and Grill (located at #25 on the linked map) to cheer on the University of Michigan as they take on tOSU Buckeyes. Michigan is coming off a disappointing outing against the Wisconsin Badgers and is 7-4 entering into the weekend. Meanwhile, Ohio State escaped Iowa City with a 20-17 victory and moved to 10-1 on the season. But it is still the Game and stranger things have happened. Plus, it will be the last Big Ten game before moving to divisions next year.
Hail to the Victors! Chris & Alexis
Hi all-
We are going to meet up again on Saturday at 5pm at the Victoria Sports Bar and Grill (located at #25 on the linked map) to cheer on the University of Michigan as they take on the Wisconsin Badgers. Michigan is coming off an ugly victory over Purdon’t and is 7-3 entering into the weekend. Meanwhile, Wisconsin thumped the Indiana Hoosiers, who seemingly were still stinging from literally dropping the ball in a game which they should/could have upset Iowa the week before, 83-20 last week, and Wisconsin is busy trying to impress the pollsters in order to get into a BCS bowl game. This Saturday is Senior Day in Ann Arbor as it is the last home game of the season, so come on out and cheer on the Wolverines with fellow fans for what will definitely be a good match-up (unless Michigan continues to turn the ball over 5 times per game).
Hail to the Victors! Chris & Alexis
Two weeks ago, we had about 20 or so Michigan fans gather at the Victoria Sports Bar and Grill to cheer on the Maize and Blue against the Fighting Zookers (Illinois). The game was one for the ages (at least from the point of view of the offensive numbers put up by both teams). And in the end Michigan was able to pull off the victory.
Thank you Maria for sending us the great photo from the Illinois game! We cannot wait until this coming Saturday to cheer on the Wolverines against the Badgers.
Thanks to everyone who came to the Purdue game Saturday night! Not only did Michigan win but there was a great turnout with approximately 30 people there to watch the game. Everyone was sporting maize and blue, and one person who had snuck in with a tOSU t-shirt (sheesh). The manager of the bar even asked for a Michigan t-shirt!
Hi all-
We are going to meet up again on Saturday at 5pm at the Victoria Sports Bar and Grill to cheer on the University of Michigan as they take on the Purdue Boilermakers. We have arranged with management to show the game via the Big Ten Network internet stream. So come on out and enjoy another good Saturday afternoon with some fellow Michigan alums/fans.
Hail to the Victors!
Chris & Alexis
