When white people harvests a crop it’s known as “berry picking” or “pick your own fruit.”  Under these conditions, white people are expected to work leisurely with no real expectations and then they pay for the privilege to do so. In other words, berry picking is the agricultural equivalent to a private liberal arts college. It’s no surprise white people like it, because much like a liberal arts degree it feels like you’ve done real work when you really haven’t.

This is really fascinating. Growing up, I was told that my surname was probably Dutch, and that the spelling had been changed at Ellis Island. Later, my grandfather told me that it was Irish. 

When I put my surname into this profiler, I think I can safely say that it is almost certainly British.

The only two countries that list my surname are the United Kingdom, and the United States, being much more common in the UK.

In the US, my last name is found in about 10 states, with over 46% residing in Bar Harbor, Maine. I’d like to go there and find out how they pronounce it!

I’m seriously obsessed with “Modern Family.” It’s the funniest and sweetest show I’ve ever seen. I’m in love with every single character. Some shows make you laugh here and there, but with “Modern Family” you laugh throughout the entire thing until it hurts. This scene right here is comedy GOLD.

Last week, someone brought in an exotic dessert and I got out the dessert-sized paper plates. Dolores took out two regular-sized paper plates and cut off a quarter of the entire dessert!
