Tim Chang gets a crash course on the legendary comedian Chris Farley with the help of the comedian and CONAN writer Brian Stack. Brian and Chris performed together in college and remained friends as they both climbed the comedy ranks in Chicago and NYC. Brian talks about what made Chris such a special performer and an extraordinary person. Hopefully Tim learns something along the way.

A few dishes from a dinner at Frej in Williamsburg, where Scandinavian sensibilities make for electrified eating.
The title of this post is a line from the movie Chinatown. John Lee, EP/writer/director on Delocated, hilariously said that he never understood what that line meant until we started working in Chinatown, then it all made perfect sense. The Delocated production office is lovingly and…

Zachary Feldman has contributed his witty haikus to all three issues of The Bushwick Review. In The Bushwick Review #2, he wrote sidesplitting haiku reviews of popular Bushwick restaurants. It was a subject near and dear to his heart and stomach, because Zach is a man who knows restaurants…
Bitters, Old Men’s special summer batch of Apricot and Fennel bitters get a fine mention on Tasting Table National.
Long overdue. Here are the haiku reviews of Bushwick restaurants I jazzercised onto paper for the lovely Kristen Felicetti’s slick indie mag The Bushwick Review (more info below and here).
I may never be as slick as Dick Whitman, but it’s nice to know that we share the same taste in powerful interior decorating accessories. The pelican ashtray in this still from Mad Men’s third season episode, titled Seven Twenty Three (in which Peggy lays with Duck), currently sits on our coffee table next to a stack of coasters (we share Larry David’s sentiments on wood stains) and a hurricane vase. Originally a wedding gift to my grandparents, I made damn sure it came with me when I moved out of my folks’ house.
Big news. The Bushwick Review #2 is done! You can get your own copy! Right now! All you need to do is go to the new site thebushwickreview.com.
The Bushwick Review has its own site now, but this tumblr is still going to stay, except maybe it will be used in more blog-like ways. Like…

This may or may not be a DVD extra:
5:45am slice at the DiFara spinoff in LaGuardia. Almost as good, but Serious Eats’ take was right, without Dom’s ovens it just ain’t the same.
Leave it to Christina Tosi to flip a sweet bird at New York State’s absurd sliced bagel tax. Momofuku: droppin’ bagel bombs on ya moms.
Comprised of audio taken from food blogger Josh Ozersky’s various TV appearances and book readings with a beat supplied by me. The man formerly known as Cutlets just wants you to jam out with your ham out.
Crispy pig’s tails at Noodle Bar are an offal-lover’s delight. Imagine porcine chicken wings with sticky sweet glaze. Seriously, imagine it.
