Information Portals Director / Casa Editorial El Tiempo
As Information Portals Director at Casa Editorial El Tiempo i re-invented the next wave of digital content businesses for this media conglomerate. At the time El Tiempo was walking out of a 5 year licensing contract with TERRA in Colombia and it had a couple of online properties that where stuck in time: eltiempo.com, portafolio.com.co and enter.com.co.
My challenge was to structure a new business unit in order to develop the digital content ecosystem, revive the current online properties, launch new digital initiatives and move into the mobile arena. In a 4 year period we transformed the digital content / online advertising marketplace in Colombia.
We built a team of more than 70 people focused on the digital content business, we redesigned eltiempo.com, portafolio.com.co and enter.com.co, we launched 6 more online properties (vive.in, citytv.com.co, futbolred.com, revistadonjuan.com, abcdelbebe.com, cambio.com.co), we streamlined their technology, their operations and business processes and marketed them to our advertising partners as an ideal bet on the online world.

Oversee sales and business development for Colombia and Ecuador, including the carrier relationship, contract negotiations and customer relationship development. Defined key initiative strategies for CycleLogics global product lines: content provider, mobile marketing, interactivity and own brand Mundo Mobile. Hold P&L and budget responsibilities. Directly managed the mobile entertainment production team (over 30 people) for Latin America.

Mobile Entertainment Director / CycleLogic Mobile Solutions
Product definition for corporate customers along Latin America. Ex. MAP (multi access portal) implementation for 10 BellSouth carriers in the region. MundoMobile.com definition, creation, design, and roll out in 5 markets (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico & Venezuela).
- Deployed in-house Mobile Entertainment production (Ringtones, wallpapers, icons, screensavers) and achieved a peak of 1 million + download of contents per month.
- Product link between product - engineering areas within 6 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, México and Venezuela) in order to synchronize efforts and streamline operations for the region.
- Design and development of the cell phone and web experience for our Ringtones download products within Latin American carriers Mexico (Telcel), Colombia (BellSouth, Comcel), Venezuela (BellSouth, Movilnet), Brasil(Vivo, Oi, Claro, Telemig, Amazonia, CTBC).

Product Operations Manager / Starmedia Network, Inc.
Responsible for day-to-day operations within the product team, including web production, web design and quality assurance. Local office manager with P&L and budget responsibilities.
Key Achievements
- Setup a 14 person Web product development team in order to localize the StarMedia portal and vertical applications development.
- Design, development and roll out of 3 local guides in Colombia (paisas.com and yonvito.com). Not longer operational).
- StarMedia navigation center deployment in Medellín, Colombia.
- Ensured of correct StarMedia brand application throughout local brand initiatives.
- Established local marketing strategies supporting our advertisement sales team.
