liketelevisionsnow is a sculptor, video artist, installation artist, conceptual artist and poet/soundscape composer. “My efforts as an artist are focused on the unknown, the mystical, the serendipitous events that lurk just beyond what we think we know.”
In January 2010, I released my book "My Public and Concrete Alibi" (co-authored with friend and artist Yannick Dangin Leconte), a collection of poetry and drawings. The book is available through two locations: Harvard BookStore and web book publisher Blurb.com. A preview of the book is available at the following site: http://www.wix.com/liketelevisionsnow/mpaca
My latest project includes a new biannual arts magazine titled Un<>Cut. The magazine features work by artists from all over the world. As of this writing, three issues have been published. They can be previewed and purchased in print or digital format at the following site: http://www.magcloud.com/user/liketelevisionsnow.
In addition, I am currently involved in two other mailart projects. I am curating an exhibit called “12-12-12 End of the World Project” which deals with the supposed Mayan belief that the world will end in 2012. Artists from around the world have been submitting their work which is documented at the following site: http://12-12-12theendoftheworldproject.blogspot.com/. If the world does not end in December 2012, a book of everyone’s efforts will be produced.
Peace Cranes for Japan is an ongoing project which I have organized. The people of Japan believe that if you make 1,000 peace cranes you or someone you care about will be healed. After this year’s tsunami and earthquake, I put out a call to artists worldwide to make peace cranes which will be sent to the Hiroshima Peace Museum. As of this writing, more than 300 peace cranes have been made and sent to me from all corners of the globe.

In the spring of 2011, I received a collage template on plain letter-sized printer paper from the artist Oh Boy! The instructions with the template were straightforward: add images and text to the collage and send it on to John Evans at the address printed on the template. What follows on these pages are the collages I created; only the cover collage was sent to John Evans.

In this issue, we are proud to feature the extraordinary work of four artists. Well known American artist Michael Byron's work includes a new piece for the printed page, "The Ladder of Fortune narrated by Jeff Bridges," and collages made during a recent trip to India. Provocative, poignant and humorous, Sarah Cavallaro uses her poetry to describe what it means to be a "Baby Boomer" in an ever-changing American culture. From Hungary, Peter Nagy gives us a view into a rural way of life that many of us do not have the opportunity to experience. His stunning black and white portraits are direct and honest, evoking a true sense of our shared humanity. The beautiful paintings of Chinese artist Liu Chen Yang reveal the attitudes of young women in China as they try to find their place in a society that evolves day by day, often at a bewildering pace.
