ABOUT ME:

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” – Matthew 5:9

The Bohemian Soul

I’m not your average type of girl. I believe in going green to be in harmony with the earth. Yes, I’m a hippie. Except that I do shower, I'm not at all rubbish you know. I'm not perfect, I'm rather different and strange, and very much considered mysterious. I love the wild. I like to wear flowers, feathers, trees and even starfish in my hair, I like to be bizarre; I like to put on vintage clothes with paisley textures or bold colors and prints, peacock feathers, eccentric retro and all that far out stuff. I love that mod fashion. I’d rather drop beats than bombs. Take me back to the groovy sixties please. And if I can get as far back to the sixties, then I'll say, I love to go back to the Victorian Era .... I'd have tea all the time, wear the fancy hats, I secretly adore classical music. I don't have a religion, I'm non-denominational, I believe in Jesus Christ and that prayer works wonders. All you need is love to make a sad song better …

Well of course I'm a Beatles fan!! I really want to meet Paul McCartney (the cute Beatle) one day!  Paul McCartney is an absolute genius. He was so charming when he was young, he still is. I don't care what people have said, he's alive. He's not dead, rumors are rumors. He’s amazing, talented and a true animal rights advocate. Yay!! I admit, my weakness is rock and roll. I think that music is a brilliant way to tune out the reality of this wicked world. Music just simply puts my mind at ease; it’s like a metaphorical band aid to my never ending thoughts.  I love guitars; Jimi Hendrix was a diehard genius.  He once said “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace“, very true. Love to listen to new indie rock bands because mainstream music gets overrated and it usually gets on my last nerve whenever I hear a radio station play them over and over. I fall to sleep to classical music though, funny right? Sometimes I wish I could play the piano like Beethoven or Mozart; got fingers that are skeletal like so probably I could stroke the keys with a ghostly swift motion. Eh? Hmm. But my all time favorite song is “Better Days” by Robbie Seay Band, just playing that non-stop on long road trips relaxes my intellect. Such a beautiful song.

My major's criminal justice ... but what I really want to do is art and photography. I'd like to study abroad. Out of this country. Out of this continent. I usually draw on my boredom. People say I’m an artist, I don’t know though, because I believe that a true artist is someone like Andy Warhol or Klaus Voorman. I’m just an amateur who does sketches on the corner of my notebooks … or bags, or vans, or hands. I like to draw everywhere. No, I’m not vandalizing, I’m leaving personalized autographs. Ha! I also carry my camera with me everywhere; you never know what awesome scene you might see. I still have a long way to go till I can become professional like Linda McCartney and Astrid Kirchnerr, but  well on my way. I love photography. I want to travel the world, it would be amazing to work for National Geographic! Could start by traveling all over the continental U.S.

Just getting my hands on a 60’s VW Vanagon would be a dream come true. I’d crank up The Doors, The Who, The Beatles or some Jefferson Airplane up on the stereo and take it for a wild ride all thru Route 66. I love road trips; you get to meet new people. Speaking of trips, it be awesome if there was an actual Yellow Submarine I could take underwater so I could visit the other side of the pond: The bloody UK. I’m longing to go to London, visit Liverpool and Manchester and all those posh British cities. I want to walk across Abbey Road before I’m thirty, that’ll be my cup of tea! I think I'm a londoner at heart. I'll live there one day, that city is so edgy, I love it!! I love the freakin UK!! and it's aristocracy, oh, oh If only I got to meet Prince Harry ... mmmmm. Europe's got some very very handsome Prince's, c'mon, Andrea Casiraghi and Prince Carl Phillip to name a few. I'll save up to have an apartment next to Buckingham Palace. HA, jk.  I am saving up for a trip to England though, the city that always rains. I absolutely love the rain, crazy I know. I’m a thunderstorm freak.

I just can’t resist going out and watch a thunderstorm race across the sky. I love the piercing sound thunder makes and the rumbling that echoes all around, I get ecstatic. Lightning is the most amazing thing on this earth; it’s my upmost fascination, especially at night. To think that something five times hotter than the sun erupts from flimsy rain clouds is just, it leaves me in awe. People have survived those deadly strikes. That’s freakin far out!! I dance in the rain, it makes me feel free. Yeah, sounds cheesy but it's true. I remember my senior year in high school, my senior class had a Woodstock moment when it started to rain at the park and we all had a mud fight. Ahh, good times, good times. The truly beautiful thing about thunderstorms is the peace that comes after it. The sunsets become absolutely gorgeous and the rainbows that appear just simply take my breath away.

I do have a fetish for nature. It’s not mother earth. It’s God. God is the writer, the painter, the poet, the sculptor of our planet. I collect seashells and starfish.  I love to hear the seashells because it echoes the waves of the lovely vast ocean. I love the beach because I was born on an island. On clear skies, I like to make out the shapes of drifting white fluffy clouds by day, I watch constellations by night. I love to lie on the cool grass and stargaze. It’s an amazing feeling; it’s like staring into the heart of our mysterious universe. I'm an astronomical geek! I love to look into the telescope to see what I can discover. My endless curiosity will have to lie on supernovas and the black holes that can suck even the light out of space! I also love the moon. When there’s a full moon, I sometimes play Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ and get surrounded by majestic aura while the owls usually hoot up above, they’re  lovely birds, with their huge eyes, I can relate. Sometimes I lose sleep being so caught up with what's happening in the sky at night. I can be an insomniac at times but when I do get some sleep, I tend to dream up bizarre things. It’s quite fascinating.

I wish I could record my dreams, could make a movie! I may be a sixties child, but when it comes to films, I love classic Hollywood glamour. Silent films are the best. Charlie Chaplin is by far my favorite actor. True talent indeed. Anything with Fred Astaire, Rita Hayworth, Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland, Dean Martin, Jean Harlow, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly and … omgsh Audrey Hepburn … are worth watching. Classics are the finest, absolutely paramount. But to me, other than Audrey, Marlene Dietrich is my beloved actress. Shall I explain why? … In these modern times though, I do have my favorites. Across the Universe and Marie Antoinette are at the top of my list. I never get tired of watching them. And of course, any Tim Burton film is definitely worth seeing, he’s wickedly talented, c’mon; he’s the master behind The Nightmare Before Christmas!! I love the weird and wonderful characters he comes up with, I love Jack and Sally! Burton's wicked ideas is the reason why I have come to love Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter... anyway, I admit, I’ve seen all the Harry Potter movies. I’m a Harry Potter fan. Although, I prefer the books rather than the films. There are a lot of things they left out that I wished it showed up on screen. J.K Rowling is pure genius. Forget the Twilight saga, Edward got his start in the Hufflepuff house of Hogwarts!  Silly vampires. I don't like how Twilight depicts them ...

Well I know my future is right around the corner, I feel like I've lived years, time flies fast. My dream wedding will have white butterflies’ released when we exchange our “I do’s”. Yeah, I’m girly like that haha, but if it’s ever possible, I’d want to get married in St.Tropez, France. The view of the Mediterranean Sea is just lovely. I love the Côte d'Azur in the French Riviera. I love French culture, their food, their fashion and even the language is beautiful. I can speak it quite a bit; it’s pretty easy because it feels like Spanish but with a tres chic twist. If I have a daughter I want to name her Michelle Isabelle. I chose Michelle because the most talented and lovely Sir Paul McCartney wrote a song entitled Michelle during his Beatle years; it’s such a beautiful song because it involves the language of love:  français. Michelle is a belle … it means Michelle is beautiful in French. I can already see myself singing her that lovely lullaby, ahh, I’m such a dreamer. sightear. Although we already chose the names for our twins. We want a boy and girl, still debating which one will be named Malu and Luma ;)

Speaking about love ... I'm completely IN love. And we know it'll be a happy ending.

I'm happily in love with Luis VasquezWe went to the same high school yet I didn't  know who he was until later in college. He was my best friend, always there to listen, always there for advice, a personal diary. He'd always call me Skittles. I didn't have a nickname for him though ... but now I do, and there's many. Never did I think I was going to end up with him, it was totally unexpected. I was looking in all the wrong places, when  he was right in front of me all along. And I'll never forget the days when he'd be at my house or the car rides and random conversations that will soon turn out to be meaningful. I should of opened my eyes sooner. But I'm glad I did, I'm glad he finally went in for the kiss, that kiss that sent sparks. I admit I was surprised but my life changed that night for the better. His family is the sweetest and I'm glad I've gotten to be part of it. And although he already knew my parents when we were friends, now they've gotten closer since he's dating their daughter. I trust him with all my heart and him likewise.  We've had laughs, we've had arguments, we've had stories, we've had memories, and we've stuck through it. Every day I fall deeper in love with Luis, and I can't wait for what God has in store for us in the future. These have been some of my best days of my life. I'm very thankful. So I tell everyone who can relate with love, I advise them to wait for the unexpected, because it's the unexpected stories that are the most unique and romantic. Your soulmate is out there. I found mine. You can find yours too.
