As Co-founder and Co-Curator of arts organization Commuikey, Lauren’s work establishes an intersection for Ecology, Technology and the Arts. Started in 2004 in Boulder, Colorado, Communikey is a volunteer-driven grassroots arts collective that is dedicated to a cross-section of today’s cutting-edge multimedia arts, showcasing creatives who are pushing boundaries in film, music, visual arts and interdisciplinary fields.
Lauren founded the Yes, And....? Program that supports the sustainability efforts of the Communikey Festival and the broader arts advocacy organization of Communikey. Yes, And....? has a brilliant team running the show so Lauren's focus has turned towards designing more experimental educational events and experiences for the InterACT series to highlight innovative models, activist opportunities, utopian possibilities, and world-changing projects.
Lauren's work will highlight two projects during the 2012 Communikey Festival , YKON GAME and ShareLab. Inspired by the legacy of Buckminster Fuller, The World Game and Design Science, both projects will illuminate the 2012 Communikey Festival theme,Microtopias, through participatory action, future-casting, and interdisciplinary inquiry.
