Singer, writer and musician from Blackpool. My style has been described as acoustic/folk/punk. I just sing lots of words quite fast.
Me and my friend Harry did a set of pop covers the other night, I put this little video together as evidence.
I made a tent. It was pretty awesome. We watched 50/50, Larry Crowne, Zombieland, Howl’s Moving Castle and the Glee Valentine’s Day episode, and had the most amazing Indian takeaway ever.
Then on Sunday I helped Lella wallpaper her dining room. We only fell out once. I cut something completely the wrong size and then stood in the paste while doing air guitar to Bicycle Race by Queen. I think it turned out pretty well though.
The end.
I’m going to Paris in August! Just booked it now. Where should I go? Where are the cool little places that aren’t in the guide books? Where could I get a gig and wear a beret and perform some songs I’ve learnt in French?
Wow.. that’s a major long distance thing you’ve got going on there, I feel like I need to do the gig now just to reunite you two! :)
Ah thanks a lot, I’ve played in Cardiff a couple of times before, I’d love to come back. If I sort out another gig there you’ll have to come down, and bring as many rugby girls as you like!
My awesome friend Sam has a hilarious blog called Facebook Gold. I was just browsing through it, laughing at all the terrible pictures and shouting “Mum, come and look at this awful girl!” when I came across this photograph of MYSELF!! Thanks Sam.
If the idea of The Stone Roses reforming wasn’t annoying enough, the Happy Mondays have now confirmed a comeback supported by the ridiculously named Inspiral Carpets. So beware, for the rest of the year O2 Academy stages up and down the country will be full of greasy haired, middle aged, whining Mancs, writhing up and down mic stands, twisting their melons and living it large while wearing shiny black tracksuit tops & sensible jeans and shouting “Manchester!” at regular intervals. Stand among the crowds for 5 minutes and you’ll soon hear “Ian Brown’s brother works with our Katherine at Tesco Express” or “E’s aren’t what they used to be” and most definitely “Three best moments of my life? Number 3, getting married to our Denise. Second would have to be when the little’un was born. But number 1, without a doubt, New Years Eve ‘91 at The Hacienda.”
Just had a man shouting and swearing at me on the phone. He apparently asked for no veg in his sweet and sour chicken, but there WAS veg in it. I know, call the police right? I said we’d send him another anyway for free (even though I know for a fact he didn’t ask for no veg) but that wasn’t good enough, so I offered a free meal with his next order, not good enough either. You’d think I’d just said “Tell you what, bring your first born in and we’ll cook him up for you in a nice curry.” Seriously what is with some people? Get over to Africa and walk for 2 days for your next meal. I was dead polite obvs, but he said “fuck it, we won’t order again” and I ended the conversation with the jolliest “Okay never mind, BYE!!” ever. I was this close to trilling “Love you!”
Went out in this bow tie tee last night for someone’s birthday. I feel like all my other tshirts are inferior now.
One of my favourite songs ever is Moon River.. “Two drifters off to see the world, there’s such a lot of world to see. We’re after the same rainbows end, waiting round the bend, my huckleberry friend, moon river and me.” And a huckleberry friend is usually a friend that is very special to you and has been/will be in your life for years.
The most awesome friends a girl could ask for (minus a couple of others who were either taking the photo or throwing up in a nearby toilet)
I organised a few of flash mobs last year and I’m thinking of doing something else in the next couple of months, something a bit more out there. I think it would just be singing this time and not so much dancing. Yes I’ve been watching a lot of Glee. Shoot me. I’m currently trawling through my music collection trying to decide what to do. If you’re in the Blackpool/Lancashire area and want to get involved, email goodthingshappen@live.co.uk All abilities welcome. I’m serious. We had professional vocalists in the last one and people who had never sang before in their lives. From ages 8 to 80 (slight exaggeration, but sounds good PR wise). Anyway, get in touch for more info!
I do have a girlfriend yes, but thanks for the little ego boost this rainy Wednesday afternoon :)
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked the video :) Thanks for checking out my blog too. Hope you’re having a nice day, Catlow x
Thanks a lot! I thought my hair looked rubbish that day, so I’m glad someone’s said that haha. I didn’t think anyone would watch the video so I didn’t even bother washing it. Glad you liked the vid! x
