Community Architect & Semantic Marketing
Internet | Phoenix, Arizona Area, US

Summary

I build community. I build successful community through understanding data, user behavior, and enhancing the activities within a community to nurture loyalty. I consider this semantic marketing or "community architecture."

My earliest experience with this approach was around political campaigns and voter data. Understanding voter behavior, building meaningful segments, and marketing strategies to those segments. I have evolved into the social web with this technique both within my own agency, for media companies like Gannett and now as the Community Architect for Village Voice Media (VVM), a chain of 13 city-specific websites (e.g., LA Weekly, Village Voice, Miami New Times, SFWeekly) and national blogs (e.g., Topless Robot.)

Previously I was the Managing Partner of Activating Word of Mouth, a social media digital agency with a national client list including personal branding for celebrities and international consumer brands. I have also served as a senior political campaign strategist to various federal campaigns including Presidential, and various nongovernmental organizations in Washington, D.C. and New York, NY.
