An under-appreciated generation that can be our (Super)Heros once more...
"There are people who need things... babysitting, French lessons...
And there are the elderly who have skills and time (they're retired, not dead)
Kin is a service facilitates an exchange between these people

48hrs later this is what we produced. The team worked hard and non-stop till the last (extra 30) minutes.
And we did feel the pressure, Melbourne was ahead of the time zone curve which meant we didn't have the privilege of catching up on what others were doing. The only benefit was the twitter feed #gsj11 which was very active.

Why?
Service Design is a new field in an old game. Bringing together the design of business services for the businesses customers. The Global Service Jam weekend brought together people committed to good Service Design in their local city.
So we had 48hrs to create a service and 'Jam' out (or 'Jam in' in some parts) a design of a service and showcase it.
And it kicked off like this:
