Developed community outreach initiatives for a federal grant that provided environmentally sustainable improvements to Lincoln:

● Educated residents on energy-efficient practices through the multi-media Lincoln Energy Challenge campaign with a collaborative team.

● Updated local media and the community on municipal improvement projects funded by the grant using news releases and fact sheets.

● Developed and managed advertising budget.

● Coordinated social media efforts.

● Assisted in Cleaner Greener Lincoln's website redesign concept and wrote the website's new copy.

● Wrote copy for monthly print advertisements and radio advertisements. Assisted with concepts, scripts and execution of television advertisements.

● Coordinated community outreach efforts including a minor league baseball game sponsorship, a summer concert series sponsorship and participation in neighborhood association events.

Directed public relations services for annual Earth Day celebration in 2010 and 2011:

● Coordinated media relations via interview requests and confirmations, press releases and media kits.

● Developed interview talking points for Earth Day chairs.

● Established beneficial relationships with local businesses and organizations through grassroots outreach.

● Led coalition volunteers in collateral distribution and social media updates.

● Collaborated with national Earth Day organization to share Lincoln activities.

● Designed educational collateral - signage, table tents and fliers - for recycling efforts at the 2010 National Special Olympics.

● Recruited and managed recycling volunteers at the 2010 National Special Olympics.

● Coordinated recycling efforts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln football games: designed educational collateral for tailgaters, recruited and managed more than 100 volunteers and drafted news releases on the effort's progress.

● Wrote articles for two quarterly newsletters in affiliation with
the Kansas Department of Transportation.

● Wrote feature stories and smaller write-ups for KC Magazine and KC Business.

● Contributed to brainstorming sessions with editorial team.

● Formatted documents for the web using InDesign.

● Assisted with photo shoots.
