- To put it simply, SOPA/PIPA are bills headed into the Senate and the House of Representatives that are meant to stop internet piracy...except for a few key issues. You could still access websites like the Pirate Bay through their IP, and meanwhile many other sections of the internet could be censored. These bills are badly written and broadly structured. - There are quite a few ways to protest SOPA/PIPA.
The most obvious is to simply contact the government: http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtmlIf you are uncertain what to say, the EFF and Stop American Censorship provide some information and guides on how to contact them. Also, if you are a Tumblr user, you can protest your with your blog, and they are willing to have someone speak to you about what to say to your congressmen.For those of you on Facebook, this event gives a good guide on how to protest.
