Just a quick doodle. I've been busy with my final-year project and haven't got the time to update this blog. The school term is ending soon, and next will be graduation! Time flies!

I am also making changes to my website, and it's almost done! Shall update again once it's done :D

A random drawing. Lineart and colouring was done in Paint Tool SAI.

And did some minor colour tweaking using Adobe Photoshop.

Now I feel like eating some caramel pudding!

There's been a global viral campaign going on facebook, and people are changing their profile photos to cartoon characters to to eliminate violence against children. I thought it was a a good and easy idea to show your support in something so I made the switch too. It's kind of nostalgic seeing all the many cartoon characters on everyone's profile pages.

It took a while to decide on a cartoon as I didn't want to pick the usuals like Spongebob, Disney characters, etc. Then I remembered all the old school Nickelodeon cartoons and Hey Arnold! popped up in my head! I loved that show, and I find Helga's obsession with Arnold hilarious. She never failed to give me second-hand embarrassment whenever she gushes about Arnold!

So here's a little sketch of Helga, looking at a cloud that resembles her football-headed crush. :)

A quick sketch. Finally tried to draw a guy (but failed lol).

I'm quite pleased with this! And it's been awhile since I last drew something that's complete (not sketches, incomplete drawings, etc). Tried drawing the lineart using the crayon tool in Paint Tool SAI and I like how it turned out.

Did most of the colouring using the Pen tool and added some textures, before tweaking the overall colours in Photoshop.

My friend and I recently went for a 3-day manga workshop at Japan Creative Centre, which was taught by Mr Seiji Iwami. Even though we were one of the few oldest in the class, I enjoyed myself and got to draw using a G-pen and ink.

And here's what I drew during the workshop!

I didn't do much drawings for the past few weeks, since I was busy with my final-year project. But of course, that didn't stop me from doodling in my sketchbooks :)

I finally completed this today, and it's a little from my usual drawing style. Decided to blend colours using brushes instead of using solid colours. But actually I don't have a fixed drawing style. I guess I'm still searching for my own unique style, because my style tends to change whenever I'm influenced by different illustrators.

I also made it a full body illustration, wanted to avoid creating another one of my usual portrait works.

Experimenting a bit on this work...

Here are a few rough sketches that I did today during work. Temporarily working at a bank now, and the job is quite relaxing, but hell boring. But the pay is good, and there's aircon, so I can't complain, right? Anyway, after spending two mind-numbingly boring days at work, I decided to bring my tablet and did some doodles.

I got too carried away with drawing flowers...

It's kind of interesting seeing different people entering the bank, and observing their actions while sketching them out. I should do more of these sketching next time...

Never really coloured in greyscale before so I like how this turned out.

I made another entry for my 100 Themes Challenge, "Light".

I realised that I make a lot of portrait illustrations, and wanted to practice full-body drawing. So I drew this (with reference from a stock image, of course):

As you can see, my greatest weakness is drawing hands. I have this problem since secondary school! It is really frustrating because I have very little patience in drawing the details on the hands. So I cropped up the drawing instead...

...TA-DA! It actually looks better cropped up, but I will not avoid drawing hands next time!

I decided to start this blog to reintroduce my love for drawing back into my life. Years of studying in a design-related course stopped me from drawing altogether, because I was drawing and thinking too much during school that my desire to doodle during my free time just died. School squeezed out too much of my creativity from my brain lol.

I'll be posting up sketches and completed works in this blog, and sometimes random junk that inspires me, I guess.

So, to start of my journey into loving drawing again, I decided to continue on my 100 Themes Challenge. Here's a new entry that I did yesterday, 'Dark'. It's used as the background for this blog.

And here's a colourful and cheerful work that I did while I was still working at my friend's company.

It was supposed to be a scene for an animation. And it inspired me to make my very own short animation. You can check it out here.

That's all for now. Will update on my next entry for the 100 Themes Challenge soon!
