Joe Petro received his J.D. from New York Law School in June 2012, where he maintained a focus on his writing and transactional skills, particularly those pertaining to licensing and drafting in the entertainment industry. He was also a finalist in the Professional Development Seminar Practice Profile competition.

He holds a Bachelor's of Science in Marketing from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland College Park. During his undergraduate career he served as an Executive Board Member for the Maryland Music Business Society as well as Founder and Editor-In-Chief of the Terrapin Sound Music Blog.

Joe Petro is a music enthusiast, writer, and humorist. He is a self-taught and proficient guitar player for 10 years who loves playing, listening to, and sharing music. He has operated Certain Songs Music Blog for the last five years.
