Procrastination!  Recognise yourself?  I do!

I have just finished reading the first part of “The Hidden Power of Electronic Culture” by Shane Hipps*.  Hipps draws heavily on the influence of Marshall McLuhan’s Laws of Media and applies them to the impact of our post-modern electronic life and how this interacts with the Christian Faith, amongst other things.  Key to understanding where we are now is in viewing the literacy of modernity as a linear concept dependent on left-brain thinking against the post-modern hybrid of literacy and imagery which stimulates the both sides of the brain equally, provided that the balance is right.  The post-modern concepts also serve to retrieve the ancient oral tradition and image-based theology.

Duk Koo Kim - no idea what it means, but an amazing piece of music.

From Last.fm: Sun Kil Moon is the current project of singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek, best known for his previous band, Red House Painters. Sun Kil Moon sees Kozelek undertake all the writing, composing, singing and guitar playing accompanied by Tim Mooney and Anthony Koutsos (also an ex-member of RHP) on drums, and Geoff Stanfield on bass. The band is named after Korean bantamweight boxer Sung-Kil Moon.

And not before time, too!  Duct tape is probably the most important invention of the last 60 years (steady on…)
