He contrives to forget everything that it is convenient to forget, which explains which explains why his favourite newspapers are so blithely inconsistent and self-contradictory. He protects himself by declaring that I am an idealist, a little Johnny head-in-air, and that when I know as much about human nature as he does then I will change my views.

Even if you’re not excited by the world cup, you should be excited by the puns (the PUNS!)
Former Bullet Manute Bol dies at 47
Manute Bol was a true Dinkan hero. I hope he is remembered for his amazing charity work (he gave away the majority of his NBA fortune). Today is a sad day for Sudan.
Reblog, reblog, 1000 times reblog. This is amazing on a level I don’t think I can even comprehend. (via pangea)
Steve Bruce is planning to spend £5m making Alan Hutton a “permanent signing”, in as much as anything can be said to be permanent in an endlessly revolving industry, and subject to the notion that human perception itself - or what Virginia Woolf called “moments of being” - is by its very nature shifting and ephemeral and experienced only through the solipsistic illusion of a fixed point of narrative consciousness.
Better at football rumours than you.

If it is anywhere near as good as Alligator or Boxer then this will be quite the musical feast!
President Barack Obama, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, left, and Czech Republic President Vaclav Klaus, share a toast during a luncheon at Prague Castle in Prague Prague, Czech Republic as actor Gary Busey looks on, April 8, 2010. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)
So when do we get to see photos of them snorting cocaine off Gary Busey’s dog together?
LCD Soundsystem - Drunk Girls (via parlophone)
Directed by Spike Jonze.
I am so fucking excited about seeing LCD Soundsystem on Friday night, it’s going to be amazing.
I am so fucking excited about seeing LCD Soundsystem on Monday night, it’s going to be amazing!
Tuesday!
I didn’t get tickets. I hate you all, I hope the ash cloud destroys all your hopes and dreams. (Not that I’m bitter at all.)
Here my very brief take on last night’s debate while I walk to work… You may also see my Twitter thoughts as it happened last night - twitter.com/mnfn
Nick Clegg (#GoNick #IAgreeWithNick)
Great performance from him as the outsider. He tried very hard to help people remember who he was by mentioning that he was an MP in Sheffield about 5 times. After that he seemed to settle down and have clear opinions about Trident and transparency.
Clegg benefitted from the fact that both Labour and the Conservatives don’t want to hit the Lib Dems too hard in case of a hung parliament where Clegg is able to wield his much vaunted king-making ability.
Clegg is coming out on top in almost every poll so he can only have improved his credibility. A genuine 3 party race now? Probably not. I expect to see him hit with some tougher policy points, especially from Cameron, in the later debates.
David Cameron
I can’t remember much, if anything, of what he said. It wasn’t a bad performance, just a quiet one. He was clearly worried about making a balls-up, which I suppose is only natural given the lead that he has held in the polls in recent months.
Having said that, I reckon he will be on the attack more in the later debates. I do not think that Cameron did anything to lose many votes last night, but he did not do a lot to win anybody over either.
His performance was epitomised by his choice of tie - blue & bland.
Gordon Brown
“Flash” was on the attack all night long and he did fairly well. He had the best tie of the lot.
I’m still voting Labour.
I’m at work now, didn’t get a chance to add a couple of other points about Cameron and Brown but I’ll try and add something later on.
We’re bleeding edge. We’re a high-tech band. One of our songs is all about Bluetooth. Another is about HTML 5.0, and we have one about Google Wave. And we’re set to perform one of the songs on an iPad.
Now I feel like I own shares in your future children.
This can only lead to good things, like a vote in the AGM where we decide what the name of your first born should be…no?
Instapaper Pro just took the #2 spot in the News category of paid apps in the App Store!
This is a huge honor.
Know how I say in the “Why upgrade to Pro?” message in Instapaper Free that my wife and I are saving to buy a house for us and our future children? Well, largely thanks to Instapaper, that’s likely to happen within a year.
(The children will hopefully start to exist about a year after that.)
Thank you, everyone.
