About Sacandaga Lake
- The Great Sacandaga Lake is a man-made reservoir whose creation was made possible by the Conklingville Dam in an attempt to put an end to flooding in the Sacandaga Valley. It is 29 miles long, covers an area of 42.3 square miles and has 125 feet of shoreline.On March 27, 1930, the Dam's gates were closed and the filling of the Sacandaga Reservoir began with over 280 billion gallons of water. The work cost about $12 million and was paid for by the businesses who would stand to benefit from the project.Today, known simply as "Sacandaga Lake", it is nestled in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, and it remains a mecca for boating, swimming, fishing, skiing, lakefront dining and all kinds of recreation and relaxation.Sacandaga Lake is a very popular vacation destination on Upstate New York, and activities and outdoor adventure abound in every season.For more info:

- 1. No smoking in lake house - outside only.No burning of candles, incense or othermaterials in lake house.2. All cooking oils and grease must bedisposed of in the container provided underkitchen sink.3. Toilet tissue must be septic tank approved.4. All trash must be contained in WHITE ORCLEAR BAGS [no black]. All recyclablesmust be placed in the marked containersmarked located near the lake house and onthe beach.5. Your occupancy/tenancy is based uponone family consisting of up to six persons.Additional people = additional rent.6. The driveway from the road to the beachmust be kept open and unobstructed at alltimes.7. You are free to have guests. Before theirarrival, please tell us the number of peopleyou are expecting. Your guests are notpermitted to bring pets. You areresponsible for your guests. In the event ofannoyance or disturbance, your guestswill be asked to leave.8. Minors under 18 are not permitted onbeach without adult supervision.9. No throwing of objects, i.e., rocks, sand,sticks, stones, etc.10. DO NOT go on neighbors’ property for anyreason.11. Please conserve well water.12. No campers, trailers, motorized vehicles,golf carts, ATV’s, etc. allowed withoutpermission.13. No boats are to be parked near buildings.No gas cans near buildings or vehicles.14. Wood stacked near outside fireplace is foryour use.15. No vehicles allowed on beach path orbeach without permission.16. Common sense and courtesy apply.17. YOU MUST THOROUGHLY CLEAN LAKEHOUSE BEFORE YOU DEPART and leave itas you received it. If not, you will beresponsible for a $100 cleaning fee.
