Joeleene Shaved her head 5/54/08 to raise money for JRDF!

April 14, 09:54 PM

Hi everyone! It's that time of year again and Jeff, the girls and I will be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $100 million.

Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people—a large and growing percentage of them children.

There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime!

This year I'm going to try and raise more money then I have in years past and I'm going to some drastic measures to do so....as an extra incentive I am going to be shaving my head to help raise money. We are going to do this as a fundraiser at work and I'm hoping to get the support from all of you, my friends and family. This has been a hard year for me trying to keep my sugar levels under control and I now take between 5 and 7 shots a day, not counting - checking my glucose levels and going for numerous blood work.

Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all the support you have given in the past and the present for a better future.

Joeleene Manhardt

Please visit my Walk Web page if you would like to donate online or see how close I am to reaching my personal goal:
