Summary

As a Digital Strategist and Experience Designer at JWT, Jinal leverages her multidisciplinary background in journalism, user experience and design to craft thoughtful and entertaining digital brand experiences for Macy’s, Nestle and Brand USA. At JWT, she also launched dotJWT’s digital thought leadership initiative and authored a set of digital strategy tools for JWT Global. In 2012, she was awarded the WPP High Potential Leadership award. She was also called a “rising star in the world of advertising,” by TED and invited to be one of six industry nominators for TED Ads Worth Spreading Initiative. She currently serves as a mentor to a couple of start-ups incubated at TechStars through the JWT partnership.

Prior to JWT, she worked at a number of boutique agencies creating and launching large-scale digital projects (content, e-commerce and social) for Cynthia Rowley, Kenneth Cole, American Express, GE, Food Network, Invisalign, David’s Bridal and The Economist. She also has client-side experience as the Innovation Manager of a financial services company where she launched ideablob.com, the very first social network launched by a financial services company. Her work for ideablob.com won the People's Choice Award at DEMO 2007.

She frequently speaks at marketing and media events (Social Media Week, WPP Stream, Asian Women in Business, She Says, Creativity Week etc) and has guest lectured at The New School and Temple University. In 2008, she co-founded Dsplaced.org, an experiment in collective story-telling that was featured on MTV IggyPop, DNA India and Verve magazine.

Jinal is a StartingBloc Fellow (fellowship in social innovation) and is currently an Adviser on digital strategy to the MFA, Design for Social Innovation at School of Visual Arts, New York.
