The short film Matthew Ballen and I wrote and directed is now available for everyone!
VHX, the dudes who helped bring Aziz Ansari’s Dangerously Delicious, Beauty Is Embarrassing, This American Life Live, and Miami Connection to your screens, are helping us bring our movie to you as well! $5 dollars gets you an HD download of the movie as well as the soundtrack!!!
We raised most of the funds for this movie on Kickstarter in 2011, finished it in 2012, screened at a couple festivals, got a mention in Indiewire and got on the Tumblr Radar. It’s crazy what can come out of sitting in an apartment one day just throwing around ideas.
This was by far the most ambitious endeavor I had ever been a major part of. This has all been an experiment of sorts (Let’s write something longer than 3 minutes! Let’s write a silly drama! Let’s push a tiny budget as far as we can! Let’s go to film festivals! Let’s distribute online!) and I’m really proud of it. I learned a lot about filmmaking and myself making this thing and I hope you take the time to watch it. If you do please share it with your friends or email me and tell me what you thought and I’ll thank you personally!
So please, go to IAmRootBeer.com and check it out!
Thank you all, I love you dearly.

…called “The Wilton North Report.” Pretty sweet deal. It was for 13 sports-oriented segments at $750 a segment, and the whole deal was guaranteed once I did my second segment. I think you know how this ends, but that’s not the point.
I flew out to LA the first time in November and I met with the…

Sorry doll, I just got out of a bad lab partnership, and I just don’t think I’m ready to research again.
The logo of every tourism business in Hollywood (so, every business in Hollywood) mimics the Hollywood sign. I like to picture a typography/graphic design geek stumbling down Hollywood Blvd, head swiveling in terror like when Ace Ventura walks into that room full of taxidermied animals.
Anyway, in the event you dig this, I’m selling prints (and phone covers, and stationery cards) on Society 6. Also, a PG version.
