"I don’t hate people, I just feel
better when they aren’t around." - C.B.
"I hadn't really been thinking about doing a solo album until I had a handful of songs that didn't really fit with the band, so I started with those and it just grew into a full record," Matthews said. "I kind of thought it'd be fun to put it out."

Little Black Submarines. Me encanta el sonido de esta canción, de puro clásico mezclado con RHCP, Led Zeppelin y no sé qué otras cosas. Me devuelve a una época de mi vida y ese flashback me tomó de sorpresa mientras trabajaba.
Throughout the mid to late 1970s and upwards, Hiroshi Sugimoto packed up a folding 4x5 camera & tripod, surreptitiously entered matinees (and, one can only presume, evening film events) and documented the interior of movie theatres across the United States. He would open the shutter just before the ‘first light’ hit the screen and close it after the credits finished rolling and before the house lights came on. Using this method he was able to invert the subject/object relationship of the movie theatre and use the film itself to illuminate the proscenium and interior. This content, largely unaddressed critically, is what lends the images their incredible power — along wtih the natural fascination of being made privy to the photography’s divine birthright — allowing us to see the normally invisible, to experience a finite collapse of time.

Pinar, mymodernmet.comOrigami is the art of folding paper, so what’s it called when one creates a digital representation of the meticulous paper art? Whatever it is, artist Jeremy Kool has mastered it in his series entitled The Paper Fox. Kool…

The discs published in this post are of the Hartford concert, which I think was the best presentation and where the band played many songs of their new cd, Backspacer. Enjoy it!
We’ve grown up with print, TV, radio, outdoor; these traditional ways of ‘talking at’ our customers.
Well, that’s not going to cut the mustard any more.
Yes we can still use those tried and tested methods to drive awareness and reach, but for those mediums to truly be effective, they must be supplemented with a conversation, a dialogue, an interaction. That is where digital media is going to enrich not only the user experience, but our own knowledge of customers and potential customers, it’s going to allow us to engage on a deeper level than ever before, it’s going to get us closer to advocacy and loyalty than has previously been possible.
Provided we take the time and resource to truly understand the benefits of each channel and apply it appropriately to our own brand and the customer segments we wish to target. It’s not without its pitfalls; of which there are many, but for those brands who invest the time and the resource, the rewards are bountiful.
I’m no expert and my navigation of the digital maze is ever ongoing, but as the wonderful Princess Jasmine so melodiously sang “it’s a whole new world.”
Ignore it at your peril!

The emergence of a new media system is typified by a period of transposition, where the behavioural grammar of the previous system remains dominant. The first television shows were radio shows with people talking directly into camera. The first films were stageplays that had been filmed. And the first marketing forays online took what we knew about media and branding from broadcast media and applied it to a whole new space.
But digital is different. Digital is not a channel. It’s a suite of platforms, channels and tactics that will, ultimately subsume its parents entirely. Digital marketing is not simply a new place to disperse persuasive symbols, but the emergence of any entirely new behavioural grammar, as companies and their customer begin to engage with each other in entirely new ways in entirely new spaces, where everyone has an equal voice.
Let me just say this is a tad verbose, but on point. I’m not sure ‘behavorial grammar’ is an entirely appropriate way of characterizing the digital ecosystem. Digital is rapidly developing its own language (and of course the means of structuring its discourse, ie grammar) which will ultimately redefine all interactions between people and, well, everything else.
