Summary
Having spent the last three years managing a major £10m Digital Media Fund – partnered with Channel 4's 4iP Fund – Jason continues to work alongside private and public sector partners to develop and promote digital media initiatives and innovation - particularly around games, education and developing new business models. Jason has contributed to reports and acted as a consultant or assessor for agencies including Technology Strategy Board, Arts Council England, NESTA, Creative England and Skillset.
Recent projects include support for the games industry via Game Central and Nokia's developer engagement programme for Wieden + Kennedy. In November 2011, Jason was invited by the EU's Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency to join a small group of Digital Media experts to assess international interactive works, complementing existing experience working on an international level with partners in Europe, the US and Asia.
This follows more than 15 years experience working across digital projects, from developing B2B online booking systems to commissioning mobile content and producing and developing cross-platform projects and more than 30 documentaries for clients including Channel 4, BBC, NSPCC, Scottish Enterprise and NESTA.
Jason has written on the performing arts, media, culture and screen industries for publications including Time Out Guides, The Scotsman, Financial Times, Birmingham Post and the Edinburgh Evening News and has talked at a number of high profile conferences and events including CrEATE (Turin), Rome Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Hello Digital, The Production Show, Mobile Entertainment Market, Mobile Investment Forum at the World Innovation Summit (Barcelona), Mobile Gaming Summit (Malta), State of Independence games conference, Cross Video Days (Paris), Marseille WebFest, Launch Future Games and Digital Conference (Birmingham) and Edinburgh Appathon as part of the Silicon Valley 2 UK programme.
