Bruce Willis speaks (highly!) about Looper and Mr. RCJohnso in this month’s Esquire
(Willis) really wants to talk about Looper, the tale of a time-traveling corporate assassin sent back in time to meet, for lack of a better word (and avoiding a spoiler), his maker. “It’s better than anything I’ve ever done…Rian did an amazing thing. He conceived an original story. He wrote it, sold it, stuck with it, directed it, and finished it,” Willis says. “That’s just tough to do in this town. Someone always weasels into the process. That didn’t happen here. And if he never did anything else except that Herculean effort, he’d have made it in the business. Amazing.
“It’s more than an original story. It’s a story people are going to talk about, and see twice. And argue about. I was arguing with myself about the story when I read it the first time. That’s all Rian Johnson, beginning to end. Great, great director.”

We have just posted the Profit Proposals for the Spring Collection and RECord Store Profits of 2011.
Some of the percentages have already been agreed upon by the community, but HERE are the new proposals for our 2011 Spring Collection.
There will be two weeks of discussion, so join the conversation and give us your thoughts by May 29th!

“Can’t Surf” is a song I wrote with Sean Lennon in 1999 on a trip to LA to record with Money Mark. We were listening to a lot of Beach Boys and Weezer, and hanging out and recording near Manhattan Beach (where the pic is from), which seemed like a pretty ironic name to us at the time. This demo was recorded at Sean’s studio in NYC. He played all the instruments.

Eames | Dot Pattern Fabric - Design Drawing / Sketch
I love getting to see preliminary drawings and sketches for pieces of art and design. Sometimes works are so iconic I forget they once didn’t exist. Seeing such small pieces feels like viewing the exact moments someone was creating something great. Amazing.

- If this area represents the interest and concern for the design office,
- and this the area of genuine interest to the client
- and this the concerns of society as a whole
- then it is in this area of overlapping interest and concern that the designer can work with conviction and enthusiasm.
Note: these area are not stated—they grow and develop as each one influences others.
Note: putting more than one client in the model builds the relationshop in a positive and constructive way.More than forty years later and the diagram still works and represents an optimal experience for the designer-client relationship.
