I’ve been sick more in the last two weeks than I have in the past year. Because my retirement isn’t over I’ve had the luxury of time to lay around and be miserable.
When I couldn’t get out of bed yesterday, I finally turned on my television. As someone who’s television commitment has dwindled steadily since quantum leap went off the air, I’m hardly an expert. But i may be experiencing a renaissance after yesterday’s binge. Assuming I can commit, my future weeknights may now be booked with the following winners:
1. Dancing with the Stars. I am pretty sure I was the last person on earth who’d never seen the show. Now I have. And I get it! Jessie Spano is on this season.
2. Scandal. Jesus fucking Christ. I thought I was done with stressful television. Found the exception. This program in particular led me on one of the most fruitless internet hunts for an affordable replica of Olivia Pope’s winter coat.
3. Master Chef Junior. kids with complicated palates and short attention spans! and Gordon Ramsey!
4. Nashville. Admittedly, this was the first show that stole me from the Internet. I actively read spoilers for the show, which is an indicator of my extreme interest since I love spoilers.
Unsurprisingly, there are a lot of shitty sitcoms. I watched the millers, the goldbergs, the crazy ones, and probably a few other forgettables. i think it is safe to say that this particular genre is broken.
